24.01.2022 Driving past the Brickworks after taking the kids to the brewery lights. No sign of action at site as yet, grass overgrown to fire hazard levels, food and rubbish left to rot in car park, rats crossing Ashwyn parade... Who is responsible for the site ? ... Is rent still being paid by leaseholder ? Buck passing time again at the WTCC !

24.01.2022 Our 3 major produce stallholders have opened at the corner of Manton street and Grange Road. Great quality fruit and veg, meat and seafood at great prices now available in the city of Charles Sturt. These and 40 other businesses not valued by the city of West Torrens, and now plying their trade elsewhere as the Brickworks site remains derelict, untouched and with no set future for the Market Shed.

16.01.2022 Went to the Brickworks for lunch on Saturday, barely more people there than when the Market where operating. Tenants struggling and would love the Markets to re-open and make the place the unique weekend destination as was promised.

15.01.2022 Sad to see many of the smaller businesses at the Brickworks really struggling or already closed. No leadership or vision by the Council has left the Shopping centre really struggling, more small business going bust, and an incomplete and irrelevant precinct. A far, far cry from what was promised....

15.01.2022 The traders submitted a costed business plan ( to the CEO and MAYOR ) with an emphasis on entertainment, community involvement, performance space and leisure. It also suggested a partnership with council to best utilized the shared areas, shared plaza and kiln to run themed days, pop up markets, vintage markets etc. They are just not interested.. ... They just want to sell it and be rid of it.. We will attempt to purchase site and do it ourselves ! !

13.01.2022 We still have plans to re-establish a Family Oriented Leisure Market on this site, our only option now is to purchase the remaining land and buildings. WTCC will release Expressions of Interest Documentation detailing the parcel of land to be offered for sale including the Market Shed and Kiln soon... we will keep you posted !

The remaining 3 are being considered by Council and have been asked to provide more information. Lets hope for something family friendly to complement the new... Shopping Centre. See more
