23.01.2022 Quotation for wedding dress alteration Most people want to know how much it will cost to get their wedding dress altered before choosing a seamstress or shop. Unfortunately, not many are willing to give you a quotation because doing so requires experience and quite a lot of risk. The cost of alteration really depends on the specific needs of each individual, as well as the style and workmanship of the dress. Nobody can give you an accurate estimate price without first seeing ...your dress, and how it fits on you. For this reason, most tailors, including myself, will give you a price in your first fitting. You are, of course, free to say no if you don’t like the price. Although this is the best and most reliable way to get a quotation, I understand that the time and effort of a fitting is not ideal. So I provide two ways to give you a rough idea of price without a fitting appointment: 1. Check out my price list page if you know what needs to be done to your dress, the price list can give you a rough idea of how much it will cost. 2. Send me some photos of your wedding dress via email ([email protected]) and specify what needs to be altered, and I will get back to you with an estimate price. See more

08.01.2022 Recently I received an enquiry for a quotation on a wedding dress alteration. It was asking about price, namely, how to cut costs on alteration. It starts when you choose your dream gown. Most of the time, the dress will need to be shortened to an exact length that suits you. The cost will depend on the difficulty and time needed to do this. Other examples include a lace scallop-shaped hem adjustment, which will also cost more. Other dresses that are multi-layered or have a fuller skirt will require more work.
