17.01.2022 After many months of behind-the-scene work, Moon Rabbit's new mobile café - On the Hop - launched last week, hopping around local Darebin parks. We wanted to thank the team at McGrath Northcote Real Estate for their support throughout this project, and their generous donation towards the beautiful wrap of On the Hop mobile café. Raye Dapolito, Office Manager (pictured below with Bridge Darebin CEO Chris Lombardo) said "McGrath Northcote Real Estate deeply values our now 5-yea...r relationship with Bridge Darebin. Having connected with Chris and her team, it became instantly apparent that Bridge Darebin epitomised what we wanted our community reach to look like. We really wanted to connect to our community in a meaningful way and we knew early on that the best way to do that was to support an amazing organisation like Bridge Darebin. We are incredibly proud of our sponsorship of Moon Rabbit and can't wait to have On the Hop visit us at our next big auction!" 08.01.2022 We look forward to seeing you all at the Virtual Forum tomorrow night, our selection process was as follows: Every candidate with contact details listed on the VEC website was contacted via email with an invitation to speak. The first 7 to reply from different parties or independents were selected. So that all parties and all wards would be represented an additional three were chosen with an online randomiser, thus providing 10 speakers for the evening. This was deemed the m...ost fair and impartial process with a pool of 60 candidates and the time limitations of the forum. As a community organisation we are always mindful of remaining impartial. Our priority is to provide an opportunity for our community as a whole to engage with at least a portion of the candidates in a direct way. Given our limited resources particularly at this time we were sadly unable to host a series of events. If there is a particular candidate you have questions for we encourage you to contact them directly. The political opinions and agendas of the candidates remains their own and in no way reflects those of Bridge Darebin. Please register via our Eventbrite link for the unique zoom code: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/bridge-darebin-meet-your-da Link to the VEC website from which the candidates were contacted. https://www.vec.vic.gov.au//darebin-city-counc/nominations

01.01.2022 Spring is here and our English tutor, Sarah Cather, shared a poem written by one of our students Thanh Ho, that we think describes springtime beautifully. The first week of Spring has arrived and I decide to take a stroll by the local park.... Taking the first steps onto the fresh cut grass, I took a minute to bask in the warmth of the of sun and absorb the vibrant green and yellow surrounding. In the corner of my eyes I see a patch of flowers yet to blossom. Upon closer examination I hear the larger flower speaking to the group of little flowers. Children why don’t you blossom into a beautiful flower? Queried the Mother Flower. We are waiting mum, Says the littlest flower, while scanning its eyes through the park as if it was searching for something missing. Why aren’t there any visitors this year Mum where are the people? Asked the flower oldest out of the group of children. The Mother Flower lightly smiles and begins to reassure the children. Don’t wait for them children. This year, no one will come to watch you bloom. Let’s not stall, lets blossom together and show the earth the best you. All the colour, all the gleam and all the beauty in you. ’ , ." - Thanh Ho
