25.01.2022 COVID update 22nd August 10:30am Matches still ON New restrictions have come into place across Brisbane this morning. So far as we are currently aware this does... not affect community sport operating under a COVIDsafe plan. This is an evolving situation so please continue to check for updates and make sure to follow our COVIDsafe plan carefully and stay safe. If you have any symptoms whatsoever you are NOT to play OR attend.

Already decimated by sickness and injury, one of our teams have had a brother transported by ambulance for a nasty injury this arvo. 22.01.2022 Hi All, The first round of trial matches commences THIS SATURDAY 7th March. The draw will be released sometime in the next day or so, but please be prepared to play.... I am not sure if the womens team will play in the trials as yet as there is only one division. Watch this space for more info. We still have space in our div 4 and womens teams, so please help us by spreading the word!! An email will go out to all registered players in the next 24 hours, so please keep an eye out for it. TRAINING Training is on for all players from Wednesday night THIS WEEK. Training is from 6:45pm at the Carseldine fields. Training is not compulsory, we understand family, school and work commitments get in the way... however it would be great to see as many of you as possible there on Wednesday night!! 14.01.2022 Hi All, As many of you are no doubt aware the recent restrictions lifting have changed the landscape and football is back on as of this weekend for Men, and this THURSDAY NIGHT for our Womens team. To say the rapid lifting of restrictions has caught us off guard is an understatement, and we are playing catch up bigtime!!!... Please check your teams game times at http://www.bfq.org.au/results--draw.aspx and be at the ground at least 30 minutes prior to game time. All players should hear from their team managers in the next 24hrs... If you do not hear from your manager, or do not know which team you are in, please contact this page or email [email protected] ASAP. Players in the new Mens team, the Bridgey Smugglers (Phil Densleys crew) may have this week off as a bye... I am waiting for confirmation on this and will contact Phil to let everyone know as soon as I hear. Training is ON THIS WEDNESDAY NIGHT for all teams from 7pm at the Carseldine fields. Entry is currently via Dorville Road entrance to the Qld Govt Precinct as Beams Rd is apparently cut off due to construction of the new urban village. Re fees, we will have this information to you all ASAP as we have had some technical difficulties sorting this one out. 12.01.2022 SEASON 2020 UPDATE: 12th May 2020 We hope you are all coping well in this isolation environment we are in. Whilst it has been tough, the indications are that it... is working and an end may be in sight. As you are all aware, both the State and Commonwealth Governments have been making a number of statements regarding the relaxation of restrictions. The BFQ Executive Management Committee has been monitoring these closely. As we stand, we believe that there is an opportunity emerging that we may be able to get back to football this season. Under the Queensland Governments plan, the reinstatement of community sport is contained within level 3, with levels 1 and 2 allowing for some restricted training and the commencement of non-contact sport. At this stage, BFQ is looking to recommence the season in late July following the school holidays. We are looking at how we may be able to extend the season, but those plans are not yet in place. This said, it will of course be dependent upon restrictions in place by the Government, and any other announcements. So, in summary, we are planning to resume the BFQ football season in the second half of July, so you can all use this to start planning with your teams and clubs. I will keep you all informed as much as I can as we move towards this time. Until then, on behalf of BFQ, please remain safe and well, and ensure you comply with the restrictions in place. 07.01.2022 Hi All, Based on the current advice from Football Queensland and the Federal Government, we will be suspending formal training until further notice. We will review this situation in line with the latest advice from the authorities.... Anyone wishing to let off some steam and kick a ball around at the fields during the usual training time slots will be welcome to do so. Smaller informal groups kicking a ball around is also OK at this stage. We turn the lights on for anyone wishing to have a run around. Lights will come on at 6:45 until around 9pm. If anyone does make use of the facilities, please ensure you follow the current advice regarding contact and personal hygiene - especially when sweaty and/or in close contact with others. Be aware that the toilets and water fountains at the grounds may be compromised. If in any doubt, please message the page with any questions. Stay safe everyone!! The referee will inspect the field 30 minutes before the start of play and make a call as to whether the scheduled field is playable or not. 05.01.2022 The very first (and slightly wet) training session at our new home grounds... Tonight is a trial to make sure we got the lighting system right, but from next week its on!!! This really is an amazing facility and we are so blessed to have access to it!! Training will be open to all, each and every Wednesday night from 6:45pm (commencing at 7pm) until 9pm. The dressing rooms will be open to allow changing and showers as needed.

04.01.2022 SEASON 2020 UPDATE: 7th April 2020 As previously indicated, we would provide an update around Easter based on current conditions... Given the status of the curr...ent COVID-19 event, I dont think it would be a surprise to anyone that we will have to extend our current no-play status. At this stage, we will again review the situation at the start of JUNE. Any decision to play or not play will, of course, be dependent upon Government restrictions and directions etc in place at that time. As we stand, BFQ is still hoping that we will, at some stage, get a late start to the season. It is our plan at the moment that we could play right through till November, with most of our games at night. We are very blessed to have access to multiple fields with lights. Until such time as we communicate again, please make sure that you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy, and that you follow any Government directions and restrictions.
