25.01.2022 Thanks Alan for keeping us informed.

24.01.2022 Bridges new Digital Literacy Program is now taking registrations. We are planning group sessions to commence in 2021.

23.01.2022 Victorian Roadmap to COVID Recovery Step 1. Triggered on 13 September 11.59pm - Stage 4 curfew restrictions in Metropolitan Melbourne are still in place but have been reduced to 9pm to 5am. Changes to our Stage 4 restrictions to help make life a bit easier as our first step toward COVID Normal.... Four reasons to leave your home: Shopping for food or other essential items Outdoor exercise and recreation Permitted work and Caregiving, compassionate reasons or to seek medical treatment *There are limitations on these activities, including travel and time limits. Two people or a household can meet outdoors for a maximum of two hours for social interaction, exercise or recreation within 5km of their home. People living alone or single parents can nominate one person with whom they can form a ‘single social bubble’. The ‘single social bubble’ allows you to visit each other for social connection. Single parents with dependents (including young children) who cannot be left alone will be allowed to include the dependents in the bubble. If you live in metropolitan Melbourne you can only form a bubble with someone in metropolitan Melbourne, not regional Victoria. If the person you nominate to be in your bubble lives with other people, you can only visit if they are at home alone. Alternatively, they can visit you at home. Professional respite care for people with complex needs is allowed. Step 2 Triggered from 28 September if there has been an average of 30-50 cases per day for the past 14-day period and subject to advice from our public health officials. Step 3. Triggered from 26 October, in metropolitan Melbourne if thresholds are met of less than an average of 5 daily cases state-wide (over the past 14-day period) and less than five of unknown transmission during that time (state-wide total). (Subject to advice from our public health officials.) Step 4. Triggered from 23 November (statewide) as no zero new cases in the community for the past 14 days. There are no restrictions on reasons to leave home. There will be very limited restrictions except when it involves workplaces and large social gatherings. Shops, recreational facilities, entertainment, hospitality and cultural venues will be open, although there will still be restrictions. These include density requirements (not too many people in a space at one time and can allow for physical distancing), record keeping and cleaning. (Subject to advice from our public health officials.) See https://www.vic.gov.au/coronavirus-covid-19-restrictions-ro for further information.

23.01.2022 Take note of new restrictions.

18.01.2022 We move into Step 2 restrictions tonight at 11.59pm. Some of the changes Daniel Andrews mentioned - * Face covering must be a fitted mask that covers the nose and mouth not a face shield. A weeks grace period before the rule is enforced * Curfew lifted from Monday, 28 Sep at 5am * Shopping - no limit on number of people from one household... * Non urgent Dental and Allied Health allowed with Safe Covid Plan * Exercise allowed 5Km from home or work for permitted workers with a Permitted Worker Permit * Still only allowed to leave home for the four reasons Click on the link to find out more about Step 2 of our recovery https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/second-step-restrictions-summar

13.01.2022 Today is R U OK day! During this challenging period it is vital that we take time to ask, listen, encourage action and check in with the people around us to ensure they are OK and have supports in place. It is OK not to be OK and it is important we know what to do when someone says I am not OK. Click on the link to find out more - https://www.ruok.org.au/join-r-u-ok-day #RUOK #theresmoretosay

02.01.2022 Today is World Alzheimer's Day! A time to raise awareness and challenge the common stigma that surrounds Alzheimer related dementia. Alzheimer’s generally involves memory loss and loss of other essential cognitive abilities that can interfere with an individual’s daily life. When you talk to a person with dementia, use short sentences, ask one question at a time, give the person time to process and respond. If you are kind, patient, gentle and relaxed so will the person you are talking to. The Haven Day Centre is our local dementia respite centre who cares for people living with memory loss and their carers. Follow the link for more information www.thehavendaycentre.org.au
