Now Tammi, the Australian teacher who opened Safari Kids, desperately needs to return home to Australia for the sake of her own family. 22.01.2022 As we countdown to 2021, we wanted to reflect on all the good things that 2020 brought us... 0 children enrolled with us who brought us joy even on the most difficult days 9 x 2 = 18 wonderful, dedicated BSK team members that put their all into everything they do ... 80-something BSK families who have supported us through thick and thin 7 Exceeding ratings in all 7 Quality Areas by the amazing team at BSK Bexley! 60+ Zoom sessions held during lockdown - COVID couldn’t keep us away from our little ones! 5 (and counting!) new BSK-families COVID pregnancies! 4 gazillion litres of hand sanitizer and disinfectant put to good use! 3 Hygiene inspections and spot checks across both our centres, all met with perfect scores 2nd consecutive year winning the St George Local Business Awards for ‘Outstanding Early Childhood Centres’ - yay! 1 virus that tried to take away our laughter, our livelihoods, our get-togethers with our loved ones... but we are overcoming it together Happy New Year to All, and here’s to an even better tomorrow! love from Bridge St Kids #BridgeStKids #Goodbye2020 #HappyNewYear #StayPositive

20.01.2022 Last night Nicole, one of our BSK mummies, hosted our annual School Readiness Session for the parents of our graduating children! What a huge turnout we had! 19.01.2022 Early Saturday morning both BSK teams were invited to a Professional Development session with our local Indigenous Elders, who took us to locations that hold spiritual significance for our First People Being in silence and in communion with nature was an inspiring experience for our teams, and the knowledge imparted to us was intriguing and undoubtedly grew our awareness of Indigenous culture, bush tucker, tools , ceremonies and customs. Thank you to Isaac, ...Bella, Des and her son for taking us on this wonderful journey including traditional sweeping ceremony and ochre painting. 15.01.2022 NUP TO THE CUP We are sad and angry to learn that today, Anthony Van Dyck become the 7th horse to die on Melbourne Cup day since 2013. At BSK we have spent every Melbourne Cup day since we opened in 2017 taking this opportunity to teach our children that all animals need to be treated with love, kindness and respect. ... This year we did this by... Inviting our beautiful friend Thumbelina the miniature pony (and her friends) over for a play, our hearts warming at the care and gentle ways the children displayed towards them Watching educational documentaries about our majestic equine friends Discussing how we treat our pets at home, by giving them lots of cuddles and feeding them Creating our own farmyard and role playing with the animals Making horses from recycled materials and galloping with them outside in the sunshine So, no fancy hats or betting at BSK, just this important lesson which is consistently embedded in our teaching throughout the year.
