23.01.2022 Artist Bridget Foley answers a few questions. Question 1. What have you been doing, making or planning during ISO? ... I have been experimenting with some new shapes as well as testing some new glazes. I have an exhibition in October so I am working on a series of pots for this. Question 2. What do you think you will be exhibiting at the Alphington Open Studio event in November? I will exhibiting my tableware and one off exhibition pieces. Check out my instagram and website to get an idea of what I do. Question 3. Do you have any artists that you are enjoying looking at on line to share with us? Could be an influence in your work or just someone that you admire.. My work is form and glaze and 2 people in Australia who do this very well are Greg Daly and Simone Fraser.

19.01.2022 Sgraffito, my favourite word in the pottery lexicon, simply means scratching away a pattern through a contrasting slip to reveal the clay beneath. It has been used as a form of decoration since the beginnings of pot making.

13.01.2022 In every firing, there is a favourite pot. This one was the winner in my last firing. This bowl has been doubled dipped, the second coat forming a perfect circle as it fuses with the first layer.

08.01.2022 I am often asked where I get my glazes from. Often they start with an idea I have seen in a glaze book, then after that I experiment, might change a few things then apply it to a pot in different ways. Lots of tests, lots of rejects, lots of fun!
