23.01.2022 CLUB UPDATE Last weekend was the start of finals action with three teams competing at Kersbrook Oval. FRIDAY GAMES Last Friday night saw the final home games of the moddies season at Aztec Oval Bridgewater. It was a great turn out again by everyone with the kids enjoying the dry conditions. A big thanks to Michael and Tania Huscroft for running the canteen at the moddies home games. Much appreciated. ... SATURDAY GAMES The mini colts played an awesome game against the powerful Mt Barker team and were leading at half time. We had the majority of play in the first half but just couldn’t put extra scoreboard pressure on the opposition. Mt Barker scored a few late goals against the run of play and this was enough for them to win. I was so proud watching our mini colts. The high intensity and skill level they displayed was amazing. It’s a credit to coach Adrian Braddock and everyone involved. Good luck this week in the Preliminary Final. The junior colts put in a gutsy effort against their arch rival Meadows but fell short by 16 points. The team played some great footy but struggled to score when we had the run of play. Dexter Kenny kicked 4 goals and Tyler Borneman was named best. Hopefully they can bounce back this weekend in the Preliminary Final and get another crack at Meadows in the Grand Final. Good luck everyone. The B grade had a great win against Birdwood by 4 goals. Their accurate goal kicking early on really helped to created a score buffer for the rest of the game. As the game went on the boys played better and better. It was great to see Adam Eckermann playing well and he was named best. Leading goal kickers were Josh Hean and Sam Ryan with 2 each. Good luck this week in the Preliminary Final. UPCOMING FRIDAY NIGHT GAMES The moddies teams are all away this week. UPCOMING SATURDAY GAMES Saturday at Macclesfield: Mini colts vs. Birdwood @ 10am Junior colts vs. Ironbank @ 11.15am UPCOMING SUNDAY GAMES Sunday at Birdwood: B grade vs. Kangarilla @ 12.40pm Let’s all get out and support our teams, especially the three teams we have in the finals. A win this week they are in the Grand Final! See you at the footy. GO RAIDERS !! Simon Bryars President BCRFC

23.01.2022 CLUB UPDATE FAREWELL CRAIG After two years as our A grade coach, Craig Bahnisch has decided to move on and explore new opportunities. The BCRFC would like to thank Craig for his dedication and efforts at the club, particularly in this difficult COVID-19 year. During Craig’s time he had some memorable wins and oversaw the A grade debuts and development of numerous young players. Craig leaves us on very good terms and he will always be welcome back at our club. We wish him all the best in his next football adventure.

22.01.2022 GRAND FINAL UPDATE What a great weekend it was with the B Grade winning the 2020 premiership! The boys were facing Birdwood in the Grand Final who they had beaten twice in the last three weeks so they were going in with confidence. Birdwood had also done us a favour by knocking out the top team Ironbank the week before. And the game was being held at the large Kersbrook oval which suited our team and style of play. However, the weather was looking ominous with wet weather and...Continue reading

22.01.2022 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING | REMINDER | 8pm Tuesday 17th November With our club going back into Division 1 next season it is critical that we form a strong committee and have a good attendance at our AGM.

21.01.2022 CLUB UPDATE We had mixed results last weekend with both colts teams being knocked out of the finals but the B grade winning through to the Grand Final. FINALS GAMES The Mini Colts faced a strong undefeated Birdwood team but still played awesome footy. In the first quarter they held the opposition to just one point. They tried hard all day but were simply beaten by a stronger side. Everyone played well with best players named as Travis Neller, Angus Wilson, Caedyn Spinks, Bro...ck Cowling, and Conor Kirby. The whole team should be really proud of their season and will be better off for the two finals games they have played. Thank you to coach Adrian Braddock and all the support staff for your efforts this year. The Junior Colts started slowly against Ironbank and this proved to be their downfall in the end as they played catch up footy for the rest of the game. The boys had a spirited fight back and could have snatched it in the last few minutes, but eventually lost by 6 points. Best players were Dexter Kenny, Tyler Borneman, Finn Koch-Reid, Taran Sanderson, Cooper Bevan and Jesse Hyndman. While the loss was hard to take for the boys, the team should be really proud of their season. They finished minor premiers and played some great footy during the season. A big thanks to coach Anthony Borneman and all the support staff. The B grade played Kangarilla with the winner going into the Grand Final. Thankfully our guys put on a dominant display winning by 12 goals which made it easy on the heart rate! After a tight first 10 minutes the boys got going led by playing coach Sam Ryan who kicked the first 6 of his teams goals! Sam ended up kicking 9.1 and was unlucky not to get 10. It was simply amazing to watch. Of course the rest of the team played really well too! Best players were Will Healey, Darcy Joseph, Clae Murray, Harrison Garner and Brock Schneemilch. Well done to Sam, all the players and everyone involved. Good luck to you all in the GF this Saturday. 100 GAME MILESTONE Last Saturday Harrison Garner played his 100th senior game for the club. After coming through our junior ranks Harry has become a consistent performer for the Raiders, good club man, and has already played in two B grade premierships. Congratulations Harry. Let’s hope there’s another flag for you this Saturday! VALE JOHN TARCA One of our past players and local identity John Tarca sadly passed away recently. John played for the Raiders in the 1960s and 1970s and was named in the Bridgewater FC 1966-1975 Team of the Decade. Our condolences go out to his wife Chris and their whole family. GRAND FINAL THIS SATURDAY B grade vs. Birdwood at Kersbrook Oval. Starts at 12.30pm. (Further details to come in a separate post) Let’s all get out and support our B grade in the Grand Final! See you at the GF. GO RAIDERS !! Simon Bryars President BCRFC

20.01.2022 UPDATE on GRAND FINAL entrance The 1000 tickets that were initially allocated for the Division 2 Grand Final have already sold out. We have made sure that all of our B grade players have a ticket and well done to those spectators who got one! However, if you haven’t got a ticket and want to attend, please don’t panic just yet.... We expect that quite a few people will leave after the mini colts game which will free up numbers. (Noting that the 1000 limit is based on the number of people inside the ground at any one point in time, not the number through the gate). Therefore people turning up without a ticket may still gain entry if the number inside the ground is under 1000. In addition, we are hoping that the crowd limit will be increased to 2000 before Saturday. We will keep you updated if things change.

19.01.2022 GRAND FINAL TICKETS Another 1000 tickets have been released for the GF (see link below) https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/hfl-country-division-2020-g

We are really excited about what Sam will bring to our club as both a player and coach when we return to Division 1 next season. Sam has considerable experience at both SANFL and HFL levels.
