24.01.2022 The Loony Dook is an annual event held on New Years' Day in which people dive into the freezing waters of the Firth of Forth at South Queensferry (north of Edinburgh, Scotland), often in fancy dress. The name "Loony Dook" is a combination of "Loony" (short for " lunatic ") and "Dook", a Scots term meaning "dip" or "bathe". The Bridport Brave is not quite as famous...yet (you can help us change that on the 23rd August). What other famous swims have you been a part of?

24.01.2022 We tested the waters yesterday and can promise temperatures are worthy of a Winter Swim. Make sure the inaugural Bridport Brave Winter Swim is on your calendar. Don't forget, its an early start. The sun rises at 6.48am so be there by 6.30 am. Thanks again to our supporters, Floating Sauna Lake Derby, Coxen Financial Planning and Bridport Surf Life Saving Club.

10.01.2022 Our Winter swim at sunrise on Sunday 23rd August is a free, all ages event. If you would like to help support Bridport Surf Life Saving Club you can buy a raffle ticket on the morning of the swim or at the Tassie Scallop Fiesta Sunday. Our friends at Floating Sauna Lake Derby have very generously provided us with 2 vouchers for a private sauna session for up to 5 people. 02.01.2022 As part of our Covid Safety Plan, we will require all attendees, swimming and non-swimming, to provide their name and contact details. We will have registrations slips like this ready on the morning, but if you want to skip the line-up, you can have these details ready to hand in to us as you arrive.

01.01.2022 Its been a busy week preparing for the first ever Bridport Brave Winter Swim on Sunday 23rd August at 6.48am. Our rescue crew were still on call to assist a fisherman with engine troubles. Great knowing Bridport Surf Life Saving Club are helping keep us safe on the water. See you on Sunday!
