25.01.2022 Did you know we stock @archiesfootwear in our Bridport clinic. These are the comfiest arch support thongs hands down. Not only are they light and supportive, they also look great too. New stock is coming this week #archies #summer #lifestyle #bridportpodiatry #beachlife #summervibes #podiatrist

25.01.2022 We are now an Archies retailer. These arent just your ordinary thong, with up to 2.2cm of support they incorporate the same amount of support as an off the shelf orthotic. They come with a tighter strap that stretches to the size of your foot. Made from light weight soft foam, youre sure to love them.

25.01.2022 Wow, over 100 likes overnight. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the support and well wishes, the likes and shares. Youre all amazing

25.01.2022 Have a great long weekend everyone. Is there anyone out running this long weekend? We've had a few people present lately who have worn the absolute opposite runners to what they needed, which (not surprisingly) contributed 100% to their foot pain. Make sure you get fitted properly and come and speak to us if you're in doubt. #longweekendvibes #runhappy #bridportpodiatry

24.01.2022 We hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Christmas day. We were very fortunate to be able to spend it with family, cue the adorable nieces. We just wanted to thank everyone for their support this year, our first year of Bridport Podiatry. It's been a hard year for many and we are extremely grateful that the business has been such a success. THANK YOU . We will be back in the clinic from the 12th of January. See you then

23.01.2022 For those brave who gave their lives so we could live ours. We will remember them. Lest we forget Image: Inkling Design

23.01.2022 Yes, life is very different right now. Closings, cancellations, and social distancing are the new norm. . Bridport Podiatry clinic is temporarily closed, however my services remain open, offering urgent care and high risk podiatry services. This is an aim is to reduce the burden on the GPs, EDs and hospitals. Podiatry is still considered an essential service. . If you are able to safely care for your feet at home or have someone you trust to help you, I would suggest you do... this until the clinic doors are open again. . BUT if you are at risk of developing infected ingrown toenails, have difficult to cut toenails due to thickness/poor vision/ you cant reach them (and have no-one to safely trim them at home) or you are at a higher risk of developing infections/complications i.e diabetes, please do not hesitate to get in contact for an appointment. . I cant stress this enough - anything that is non urgent should wait for the moment, so you can stay home in isolation, be safe and save lives. . For any questions or concerns please either contact via [email protected] or phone 0474 593 365 or DM through facebook. . I have added this little drawing as a little pick me up, a ray of sunshine to remind you that not everything is cancelled. <3 Photo credit: selebrate you See more

22.01.2022 Exciting news... From July, Bridport Podiatry will be running a monthly clinic from the Scottsdale Hospital, taking over from Perry Daley who has been providing this service for the past 20 years. Big shoes to fill. 22.01.2022 Did you know there are 26 bones found in each foot, 33 joints, over 100 muscles, ligaments and tendons. Pretty cool, huh?

19.01.2022 To our loyal patients, We would like to reach out to you all during this difficult time and we hope that you are safe and well. We have been monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely and have been following the advice of our Australian Podiatry Association. However, the health of our patients is our main priority, which is why we have decided to temporarily close the clinic. We will be available via phone if you have any questions relating to this or if you have any emergenc...y foot problems. We simply just didnt feel comfortable that, despite allied health being classed as an essential service and our very strict hygiene protocols, we couldnt 100% guarantee the health and safety of our staff, their families, and our wonderful patients. There are clinics in Launceston that remain open if you are in need of urgent podiatry. Thank you for your continued support and best wishes to everyone who is feeling the impact in so many ways.

19.01.2022 Summer is around the corner which means open footwear and sometimes dry/cracked heels. Factors include lack of moisture, deficiencies, pressure, age, weight, poorly fitting footwear & genetics. In addition to manual debridement, we LOVE LUXE30, an all natural moisturiser that incorporates 30% urea to really hydrate dry, hard and cracked skin. Smells like coconut & even better, no nasties . If you do suffer from cracked heels, make an appointment with your Podiatrist today #bridportpodiatry #lovetheskinyourein #crackedheels #dryskin #lovethis

04.01.2022 Covid-19 Update . . We are wanting to advise all our lovely patients and referrers that our Bridport and George Town clinics are open as usual. .... However, due to the current status of covid-19 or coronavirus we have put protocols in place to protect everyone who comes into contact with the clinic, including patients and staff. We treat a number of elderly patients and patients with conditions such as diabetes and cancer patients which make these protocols even more important. . The symptoms of coronavirus are reported to take as long as 14 days to develop and can include cold/flu like symptoms, particularly a bad fever followed by a dry cough, sore throat, headache and difficulty breathing. If you have any of these symptoms, regardless if you have travelled overseas or not please call our clinic on 0474 593 365 to reschedule your appointment. . What We Are Doing Under normal conditions we have strict infection control guidelines through instrument sterilisation, surface disinfection and hand washing/hand sanitiser between patients. Some of the additional steps we are taking include: Wiping down all surfaces including treatment chairs, waiting room chairs, door handles, bench surfaces Offering hand sanitisers to all patients Continue to wash hands between consultations and use hand sanitiser We ask that you swipe your own cards when using the terminals for payments. . To reiterate- If you are unwell and experiencing cold/flu symptoms (fever, sore throat, dry cough, headaches) please contact our clinic on 0474 593 365 to reschedule your appointment! . 02.01.2022 Can you guess where this was taken from this morning?

02.01.2022 Happy Easter everyone. Bridport was certainly quiet this year but nice to see everyone out enjoying the sunshine today, riding bikes and walking along the foreshore. We are so lucky to be able to isolate in such a beautiful place. Stay safe, happy and well.

01.01.2022 What do podiatrists actually do? Podiatrists are trained health professionals who diagnose and treat conditions of the lower limb. They prevent and correct deformity and keep people mobile, relieve pain and treat infections. ... Conditions treated include: Soft-tissue and muscular pathologies i.e. plantar heel pain, tendinopathy, bursitis Bone and joint disorders i.e. arthritis, bunions, retracted digits, plantar plate issues. Nerve related pathologies i.e. neuromas Skin and nail disorders, corns, verrucas, calluses, fungal nails and ingrown toenails. Diabetes assessments including assessment of neurological and circulatory disease. Sports injuries Maintenance foot care for those with diabetes or unable to reach their feet. Podiatrists prescribe customised orthotics or dispense off the shelf insoles when require and can directly refer for imagining such as an X-ray, ultrasound or MRI. They can perform minor surgeries under local anaesthetic mostly used to remove persistent ingrown toenails. The majority of people will suffer from foot pain at some point in their life. If you notice any changes in your feet or ankles, like pain or skin abnormalities, or if you simply cant reach your feet to adequately care for them, contact your podiatrist today. We are still running clinics from Bridport and George Town. Scottsdale clinic opens in July 2020. Call 0474 593 365, email [email protected] or get in touch on Facebook. See more
