14.01.2022 I am trying to contact the family of Stan & Phylis Cook. I remember that they had a daughter called Leanne who was about three or four years old in 1967. Stan worked for a Pastoral Agency company Mactaggarts and he was my branch manager at Baralaba in 1967. He worked for Mactaggarts and then Primac all his working life and was in Brisbane Head Office when he finally retired somewhere about the year 2000. I think he was living in Ipswich about this time.I understand that Stan died a few years ago and if Phylis is still living I would love to make contact with her or daughter Leanne. I think Leanne had a younger brother. Stan, Phylis and Leanne all get a mention in my recently published book, Brigalow to Bulldust".

03.01.2022 Garth Hughes, who was my hero and wrote the foreword for this book, died on 15.11.2020. Together with David Watkins, they were the two outstanding stud stock auctioneers that I had the privilege to listen to and see in action. When I commenced working with Mactaggarts in 1967, Garth was the chief Blood Horse Auctioneer and Manager of their Blood Stock Department. He eventually became the chief Stud Stock Auctioneer for Mactaggarts in the early 1970s and, through numerous mergers, went on to become one of the top stud stock auctioneers in Australia. It was a great honour and privilege to have worked with him. Vale Garth. Jerry O’Sullivan
