22.01.2022 Last week in Kindy B we recapped on our learning from the week focusing on the Green bin and Blue bins. We discussed our three step check for the blue bin: Is it plastic? is it clean? is it squishy? We also revisited our blue bin to see if it was doing better than yesterday - it was! this afternoon we hope to send it home with someone lucky to pop into the REDCYCLE bin at the supermarket! We started thinking about what happens when we don't put our rubbish in the bin and what... might happen so we listened to Somebody Ate Stanley again and noticed that everything that ate Stanley the Plastic Bag got sick. We have rubbish in our yard and talked about the animals that might get sick from our rubbish. Emma decided we should pick up any rubbish we see to stop the animals from getting sick. So we moved outside and spent the rest of the morning recreating an ocean and the story of Somebody Ate Stanley with a mini beach. 20.01.2022 Yesterday we continued to explore healthy eating through taking a closer look at where our fruits and vegetables come from and how we can grow them. We watched a short video explaining where fruit and vegetables grow and how we can grow them before sitting with Mavis and looking at different fruits and vegetables and discussing if they grow on a vine, tree or under the ground. We also continued to look at what goes in each of our 4 bins with a matching game where the children matched pictures of food scrapes or packages to the bin colour they belong in (red - general, yellow - recycling, green - compost and blue - soft plastics)

15.01.2022 On Thursday we started our day with our yarning circle and acknowledging our Turrbal and Yuggera people for sharing their land with us. Then we moved on to our butter making experiment. We started our experience talking about the cream and the movements we are going to use to make butter. we used shaking method and whisking method in different glass jar and a bowl. Children took turns shaking the jar filled with cream and whisking the cream. we had to use our strong muscles for a very long time to turn that cream into butter!!!!we found The jar made the butter faster than the whisking.

This morning we joined together with our Toddler B friends in the yarning circle where we lit up our fire pit as a symbol of a commencement to our gathering for the morning where we would firstly like to acknowledge the Turrbul people, traditional owners of the land that we work, learn and play on. We share our land, we share our seas, all under one sky, so thankful are we we then continued to acknowledge the land owners through performing Inanay Capuana and Taba Naha where the children had the opportunity to follow along using the given hand gestures that go along with it.
