23.01.2022 T H E G I N G E R B R E A D M A N Paperbark children engaged in a literacy based activity exploring the storybook... The Gingerbread Man. This well known tale gave children an inclusive approach to group time as they chanted together "you can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread man". As an extension, children took part in a crafty activity, stenciling their own Gingerbread man and exploring with an assortment of wooden beads to decorate their Gingerbread man.

23.01.2022 H A R M O N Y D A Y Today we celebrate Harmony Day in the Paperbark room. This day is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic backgrounds. Aligning with Brighthouse Philosophy, we believe in forming a community where different backgrounds, beliefs and traditions are valued and embraced. This activity encourages children to become familiar with different cultures and enhances their communication skills as they engage in dramatic play using these cartoon diverse people as characters of their own imagination.

21.01.2022 This week the kinder children participated in an art and cooking experience based on St Patrick's Day. We made green pancakes and a green hat. During the art experience the children had to reflect on some of their kindness acts. Through the experience it allowed the children to think about how we can be a good person.

19.01.2022 This week in the Gumtree Studio we focused on the calendar of event, St Patrick Day. On Monday we learnt about what a 4 leaf clover is and how it gives us good luck. We then painted our own clover and went searching outside for a rare 4 leaf clover. Today we made green playdough with gold glitter and listened to Irish traditional music.

12.01.2022 This week in the Grevillea Studio the children made their own placemats. The children decorated their placemats with purple glitter and feathers. The placemats will have a photo of themselves so the children can identify their placemats and be encouraged to use their own placemats during meal times.
