20.01.2022 I’m baaaack!!! If you know me, you probably know this is a long time coming! I definitely outlasted my own expectations and everyone else’s when it comes to my stamina for city life. I’m unashamedly a ‘can’t take the country out of the girl’ girl. If you don’t know me here’s the back story... You see the extraordinary thing is that I’ve been splitting my time between Melbourne and home (Torrumbarry/Moama) for the last SEVEN years. People always said to me I don’t know how you...’re *still* doing it. What was keeping me in this weekly rotation (aside from my reliable Subaru)?? Well, on weekdays I had an awesome job in a Collins Street design studio that was fulfilling me with a heap of quality, enjoyable and challenging design projects and I wasn’t quite ready to give it up. Then on weekends I was feeling this strong pull back to this beautiful place, the lifestyle, my family, partner and doggos also not willing to give it up. So after a lot of deliberation and courage I finally decided it was time to ‘call it’ and come home and start my own business. YAY! Then throw Rona in just to shake things up a bit more and add a few extra nerves to the mix. So here it is. Welcome to Brightland Studio. 11.01.2022 Hi there, I’m Larni. Let’s keep it simple to begin with hey?! Cause lets be honest even my Dad found it difficult to explain to people what I did for work (sorry Dad). In layman’s terms I’m a Graphic Designer. I graduated with a Bachelor of Design Communication Design (Honours) from Swinburne University of Technology. It’s a lot yeah?! So you choose the term Graphic Designer, Communication Designer or designer I won’t be offended! ... See that word in brackets tacked on the end? Yes, that’s an extra year tacked on the end of my degree. In this year the whole focus was to create design that responded to research and solved problems. And that’s what I’m passionate about now. Intentional design. Strategic design. Design that helps elevate your business offering and visually communicates your best self to your audience. For the last 5 years I’ve been working on branding strategies and wayfinding strategies in my previous studio role. AND I LOVE IT. Considered design is my thing.
