20.01.2022 The National College Health Assessment indicates that around one in four students suffers from a diagnosable mental illness, while a much greater proportion report feeling overwhelmed (around 70 percent) or very lonely (around 60 percent). These figures overlap with other recent surveys. For example, a recent YouGov survey found that 29 percent of millennials always or often felt lonely and 27 percent had no close friends. It's high time that we address this issue and accept that it's OK to not be OK. If you are feeling low and anxious then you can surely reach out to many organisations that will help you out. 20.01.2022 Wishing you all a very Happy Easter with a little throwback from our last year's celebrations!

19.01.2022 Earlier yesterday, the Victorian Government announced that a state of disaster will be declared from 6pm last night, including the introduction of a new series of Stage 4 restrictions for Metropolitan Melbourne. Stage 3 restrictions for regional Victoria will come into effect at midnight on Wednesday 5 August. These restrictions are designed to close all non-essential activities in order to slow the spread of COVID-19. We are currently working through the available details of... this new stage of restrictions and what they mean for our students, researchers, staff and the Colleges operations. Unfortunately, classes scheduled to be held on campus or in-person on Monday 3 August and Tuesday 4 August will not go ahead as planned. For all other students, you must not come to campus until you receive further advice from the Admin staff to do so. Existing study spaces in the Automotive workshop on Docklands and the City campus on Bourke Street will also be closed until further notice. While we don't yet have full details, the Victorian Government has indicated in the latest statement from the Premier that all TAFE and University study must be done remotely as part of Stage 4 restrictions. However, more information is expected in the coming days and there may be some exemptions which are yet to be determined. Further updates will be provided via email as more information becomes available. The health and safety of our College community continues to be our priority and we thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
