25.01.2022 February is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month; a month to raise awareness of the early signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer. Each year in Australia, around 1,500 women are diagnosed with the disease. Unfortunately, in most cases, the cancer will be diagnosed at an advanced stage, where it is very difficult to treat. If you're experiencing any of these symptoms and are concerned, you can speak with your GP. To book an appointment, please call us on 6268 1077 or visit www.brighton...doctorssurgery.com.au #OCAM2021 #OvarianCancerAwareness

24.01.2022 This year, Diabetes Australia has launched a campaign to raise awareness of the real impact diabetes can have on a person’s mental and emotional wellbeing. They estimate that people with diabetes face up to 180 diabetes-related decisions every day. That’s more than 65,000 extra decisions a year! If you have diabetes and feel frustrated, sad, worried, down, or depressed, you're not alone. Professional support is available, so please reach out. The early detection and treatment of diabetes is important to reduce the risk of serious complications. If you haven't been previously diagnosed with diabetes and are showing possible symptoms such as increased thirst, urination, and tiredness, or have slow-healing wounds or persistent infections, it's a good idea to book an appointment with your GP to arrange a simple blood test.

24.01.2022 Our doctors and staff wish you and your family well these Holidays. Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you in 2021!

23.01.2022 Dear valued patients, We are aware that there is speculation that the Brighton Doctors Surgery is to close. This is not accurate and we’d like to apologise for any confusion this has caused.... As some of you are aware, we will shortly be losing Dr Roger Skierka who has decided to leave our practice and will finish with in mid-August. Dr Skierka has not yet decided where he will be practicing, once he does have a new practice, we will be able to advise his patients. We are pleased to confirm that we have secured the services of a locum GP with whom some of you have already had consultations for two days a week to ensure we can continue to care for you at your local medical centre. We’re also pleased to announce that we have a new doctor starting with us later in the year, and we are confident of securing another for the start of 2022. We are also interviewing a number of other interested GPs. Brighton Doctors Surgery has been part of the local community since 2013 and has been owned by Better Medical since November 2019. Through our network of local GP’s and support staff within our group, we are fortunate to have a strong, passionate team who are working hard on behalf of the community to keep the doors to this clinic open. Thanks for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you soon. The Brighton Doctors Surgery team

It's an opportunity for us all to be breast aware and support those affected by the disease in our community. A change in the size or shape of your breast. A change to the nipple, such as crusting, ulcer, redness, or inversion. A nipple discharge that occurs without squeezing.
