24.01.2022 Queensland has 2 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) today. Both cases are in hotel quarantine. There are currently 13 active cases of COVID-19 in Queensland. C...urrently, 13 of the active cases are in hospital. To date, 1,181 people have recovered and sadly, 6 people have died of the disease. This brings the total number of cases to 1,201. Traces of COVID-19 have been detected in wastewater treatment plants in Cairns North and South on 24-25 November, 2020, and in Bundaberg on 24 November, 2020. While unlikely, we cannot rule out the detections are from active COVID-19 cases or recovered cases and therefore encourage people to get tested immediately if they are unwell. To find your closest COVID-19 testing location, including GPs, private pathology and Respiratory Clinics, visit https://qld.health/TestingFeverClinics or https://qld.health/TestLocator and enter your postcode. Border residents can apply for a border pass and travel around Queensland for any purpose, and Queenslanders can travel to those places as well. Its an important step in supporting border communities and ensuring Queenslands economy rebounds not the virus. Our strong borders have kept Queenslanders safe and allowed us to keep our economy going, businesses open and people working. 12.01.2022 Queensland's Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young has ramped up her calls for people to wear face masks if they can't socially-distance. MORE: https://ab.co/...3ls0Wfw "It's really time to start using them [masks]. If you can't socially distance when you go to the shopping centre, use a mask," Dr Young said. "Try to always socially distance that is far, far more effective. But if you can't do it, wear a mask. "If you're in a taxi, or a rideshare, or on public transport, that's the time to wear a mask." "Because you can imagine we've all got our windows closed, it's a bit cold at the moment for Queensland. So we're sitting in a confined space, in a taxi, in a rideshare or our own car ... if there's anyone who is not part of the household who is in the car, really think about using a mask to protect yourself and to protect others because you can't socially distance in a car ... and public transport if you can't socially distance there, wear a mask." Dr Young said there was no need for masks to become mandatory yet.

01.01.2022 Queensland has 1 new case of coronavirus (COVID-19) today. The case was acquired overseas and is in hotel quarantine. There are currently 13 active cases of COV...ID-19 in Queensland. Currently, 13 of the active cases are in hospital. To date, 1,180 people have recovered and sadly, 6 people have died of the disease. This brings the total number of cases to 1,199. Each day, total cases may not equal active plus recovered plus deaths, as information for some cases is still pending and will be updated in due course. Detailed information about COVID-19 cases in Queensland including maps of cases by HHS and LGA, likely source of infection, age and gender, testing completed, and self-quarantine notices issued, can be found here: www.health.qld.gov.au/covid-data
