The District Finals are scheduled for March 28th at the Dorset Gardens Hotel , Croydon.

16.01.2022 Wilson Storage at 237 Bay Road, Cheltenham - through the company's generosity, Brighton Lions club now has storage facilities for our BBQ trailer and other items including the portable BBQ and boxes of stuff!! To me this is an absolutely fantastic gesture by Wilson Storage. It's a great facility for storage and the staff are so helpful. Thanks for sponsoring the Brighton Lions club. Here are a couple of pix of John and I and Denise (Wilson Storage Territory Manager)

The income we raise from selling Christmas cakes and puddings will be more important for us this year and we appeal to the community to support us. Please email your requirements to our Christmas cake chairman at : [email protected] and we will let you know where you can procure your requirements or arrange delivery. Please include your mobile telephone number. The 1.5KG cake costs $17 and the 1KG cake and the puddings cost $13 each They're delicious!! Help support us. They can be purchased at: Westpac , Brighton , Westpac ,Bentleigh, Westpac , St. Kilda and Bendigo bank, Brighton

05.01.2022 Brighton Lions Youth Of The Year 19th Feb 2020 What a great bunch of participants we had last night ; all showing leadership skills and hard to separate. Genevie Perruzza from Star Of The Sea college opened the speaking for the evening, full of confidence and forthrightness and set the tone for intense competition.... Olivia McGarry from Star Of The Sea College was the overall winner but was only one and a half points ahead of John Nugent from Brighton Secondary College , who came second; it was that close! Unfortunately there were no prizes for second; but there was for Public Speaking where Hannah Black from Brighton Secondary College came first with a cleverly constructed rap presentation that covered so much of everything that young people are concerned with. Everybody enjoyed the evening with 47 attending at the Royal Brighton Yacht Club Function Room with views of the Sun setting over the bay. Thanks go to Office Works, Nepean Highway , Highett for their generous donation of gift vouchers for the two winners Clarke Martin ( The Mayor for Bayside ) gave a very insightful speech, showing how he had listened to everything that the students were saying and addressed and reflected on the issues that they had vocalised. James Newbury ( The State MP for Brighton) was one of the three judges and generously offered to take the students for a personalised tour of State Parliament in the near future, should they be interested; I think they will be.

05.01.2022 The district peace poster judging this morning at the Box Hill Lions Club went well. Four winning posters out of over 150 submissions were up for judging including one from St Finbar’s Primary School sponsored by Brighton Lions. Although James’ poster from St Finbar’s didn’t win, the experience had earned him valuable insights into what the judges were expecting. He and hopefully more of his schoolmates will endeavour to participate in the contest again next year. The judging... panel consisted of three professional artists and the event was witnessed by many Lions members, school teachers and parents of students whose posters were up for judging. The District Governor and District Peace Poster Director presented both the winner and runner-up a certificate and a gift voucher.
