25.01.2022 We delivered this beautiful old grand back to the grateful owner this week. Andrew recently restored this Collard & Collard grand in our workshop. Ian purchased the piano privately and it was in need of some technical expertise on the action and some polishing on the outer case. The grand was made in the 1880's and still has a lot of playing years ahead. We are trying to educate people about older piano's. Just because a piano may be over 100 years old, it doesn't mean tha...t it's ready for the scrap heap. Of course each piano is different and in some cases it may be more economical to sadly "retire" or dispose of the instrument as the cost to restore it could be very prohibitive. Call or DM us if you have an old piano that us in need of some tender loving care and we will give you an honest appraisal and advise if your piano can still be played and make some beautiful music. 21.01.2022 It was our absolute pleasure to deliver this fabulous Beale piano to this young family today. They are really thinking ahead and wanted to get a piano to enjoy over the coming months. Music is so important and I am sure they are going to be creating some great music together soon. As they say..... "Families who play together, stay together".

20.01.2022 What music have you been playing or listening to during the last few weeks of self isolation? Did you start to learn a new song on the piano or found some music that has helped you to feel better? I've been listening to a lot of Acoustic and found a lovely album called "Women of Acoustic" and Andrew sits at the piano most nights and plays Jazz.....with his glass of red nearby!

08.01.2022 In the 40+ years of running our Business @brightonpianos.adelaide we have had the opportunity to work on some amazing pianos. This Steinway Grand piano has been one of them. Andrew has been methodically working on the action and regulating and replacing some parts. The hammers were worn so we sourced some brilliant replacement hammers especially made for this piano.... Piano restoration is such a rewarding process as it can breathe life back into a piano, regardless of it's age. With self isolation and our general day to day life changed we may be feeling a loss of control not experienced for over 100 years. But making music provides a means to remain calm and take control and that is exactly what one of our lovely clients decided to do and bought one of our grand pianos.... Music is a balm for soothing anxiety and enhancing health and wellbeing which always makes us feel good or better.
