24.01.2022 Stay tuned for return date announcement coming real soon...just confirming a few final logistical bits and pieces and we’re almost good to go!

22.01.2022 An update on our market. A few restrictions have this week been lifted by the Education Department regarding use of school grounds and facilities to non-faculty and students, however not enough to make running the market manageable or viable just yet. Some of these restrictions and requirements include a 2 hour time limit for on-campus events/activities, limited capacity, record of all attendees and contact details, etc. Obviously considering the fact we are an outside market... with multiple entrances to the grounds, this is very difficult to safely and effectively manage. We have a duty of care to the school, our student and parent volunteers and of course our market patrons. We await further lifting of restrictions, which hopefully won’t be too far away, so we can then return some version of our market and manage it safely and within guidelines. Any updates will be announced here on our Facebook page. We are getting closer, hopefully we’ll see you soon!

21.01.2022 Due to further developments on the COVID-19 situation and temporary updates to the terms of the school’s facilities usage to non faculty and students, we have now also cancelled the small Produce market until further notice. Please stay with us here on Facebook for updates on our market return. In the meantime, please look after yourselves and each other so we can get back to normal as soon as possible. Take care, we look forward to happier times again soon

13.01.2022 Hi all...just checking in to let you know there have been no further updates since our last post. As previously mentioned, current restrictions set by the Education Dept on out-of-hours school facilities usage make our market difficult to safely and effectively manage at this time. Some of these include a Site Access Form, which requires personal contact details and a brief Covid medical questionnaire to be completed by everyone who attends on-site activities, a 2 hour time l...imit, and restricted capacity limits to name a few. Whilst these may work for most smaller groups using the school facilities, obviously it isn’t viable for our market. We understand that these restrictions are put in place in the best interest of the school community and have every intention of respecting them. We miss the market as much as you all clearly do and will be returning as soon as we get the green light. Once again we thank you all for your patience and understanding. Please stay tuned here for any updates, we promise you’ll be the first to know as soon as there is any news

13.01.2022 Just a reminder that 22nd March (tomorrow) and 12th April markets have been cancelled. Future dates will be reviewed in a few weeks time and we’ll keep you updated right here on Facebook with any news. A few of our pre-approved local fruit and veg sellers will be in the rear carpark each Sunday morn from sunrise til noon until further notice and would love your support Wishing everyone strength and good health, we look forward to seeing you again soon

12.01.2022 As you may recall, the BSM team wanted to do something for the bushfire victims last month, and pledged to donate our carpark takings from our 12th January market to the State Emergency Relief Fund. The amount raised, including other donations that were dropped into our buckets on this day, totalled $814 and has been forwarded to the Fund. Thank you to all who contributed

08.01.2022 Woohoo! We are back! Feel free to share.

07.01.2022 We hope everyone is taking care during this latest lockdown here in SA. We just wanted to let you know that Brighton Sunday Market will be cancelled for the remainder of 2020 and we hope we can resume at some point in the first part of next year. We have greatly missed our Market, vendors and patrons this year, as we know most of you have, and we can’t wait to get the all clear to resume as soon as we possibly can and get Sundays back to what they used to be! We thank everyone for their support, understanding, and most of all patience in what has been an incredibly trying year for many. Here’s wishing for a healthy and successful 2021, stay safe and stay well. From the BSM volunteer team

02.01.2022 Good morning, happy sunny Wednesday to you all. As earlier posted, Brighton Sunday Markets are cancelled until further notice whilst we follow health advice from the government. Results look to be heading in the right direction in SA and we continue to follow advice so as not to undo the great work South Australians have done so far! Please continue to follow this page for updates on our return which hopefully isn’t too far awayTake care everyone, see you soon

02.01.2022 Update. Lots of rumors that we are returning in a week or two, unfortunately this is not the case, however we should hopefully be back up and running at some point before the end of Term 1 of the school year. We are currently working through Covid plans and other logistics, so please know that things are in the works. Please also note our website and this Facebook page are the only places we publish dates and news, so anything other than that may be incorrect. Stay tuned, we can’t wait to see you all soon...yay for 2021!

01.01.2022 After an announcement from the Chief Medical Officer of the Federal Government today recommending cancellation of events with 500+ people, the Brighton Sunday Market Committee, along with Brighton Secondary School representatives have decided to cancel the following markets: 22 March 2020 12 April 2020 (Easter Sunday)... In the meantime, a small produce-only market will run on Sundays on a weekly basis in the rear carpark from 7am until midday, as will be well under the 500 person recommendation. Of course this also will be subject to updates on the COVID-19 situation and recommendations by local, State and National health authorities. We will follow the situation closely and make an announcement on upcoming Brighton Sunday Markets in April. Thank you for your understanding. Our market patrons and volunteers, plus local and school community’s health and well-being are our top priority. Please stay safe and look after yourselves and one another, we will see you all soon
