16.01.2022 A great night tonight at the club hosting our friends from the German Table Tennis Club in a friendly match. It’s great to be back playing matches and enjoying each other’s company.... and a few beers. After plenty of hard fought matches, it ended up a draw, with Table Tennis being the winner.... who would’ve thought.
13.01.2022 Only a handful of spots left for our Monday Night competition starting July 13. If you intend to play, you'd better get in quick!!! Good to see some new faces keen to join in the fun
13.01.2022 The 2020 Brighton Singles Championships ran this Monday and Tuesday nights with 31 players playing a combined 160 matches. Both nights were played in good spirits with countless exciting rallies and remarkable shots. The final was played between Mitchell Rogers, who had knocked out reigning champion Paton Wilson 3-1 in his semi-final, and Michael Tran who won a tight match against the previously undefeated Frank Ford in the other semi-final. It was a great contest with both ...Mitchell and Michael enjoying patches of dominance before Mitchell emerged victorious 3-1. Congratulations to our 2020 Club Champion! I'd like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who played and helped out. The event would not have been so successful without the contributions of all those involved. 11.01.2022 Dear members, In light of recent COVID restrictions being lifted in South Australia we are now able to organise the always enjoyable friendly between the German Club and our club. We are seeking interest from all members (incl social participants) for the friendly on Monday 6th July 2020 at 7pm at our clubrooms in Somerton Park. The format will be confirmed on the night and matches will be organised based on your standard with players from the German club of a similar standar...d. This night has been selected as its 1 week before our Winter season starts. We have also agreed due to COVID restrictions that dinner will not be provided this time and instead replaced with finger food for supper at the end of the night. We also ask members to each bring a plate for supper as we are hosting the matches at Brighton. Given that we are looking at less than two weeks from now, can you please at your earliest convenience advise Paul Glassenbury and let him know if you are wanting to participate so we can ascertain numbers. This event is will be at a cost of $5 for Brighton members which will cover drinks costs and playing costs. I look forward to hearing from you. Best regards Paul Glassenbury President 0417 812113 [email protected]
10.01.2022 Dear members and friends, Members have now enjoyed two weeks back at the club with restrictions. I want to thank all of you for your cooperation during this time. Our booking system and cleaning regime has been well supported with a minimum of fuss. Thank you. Below is a list of updates which we ask you all read carefully. I am also pleased to advise the recommencement of the Brighton Social Group (Tuesday and Fridays) and the Wednesday Ladies group in the near future too. Pl...ease read below for further details. 1. No Need for Bookings from Friday 19/6 On Friday the State Government announced easing of the 20 person limit from this Friday 19/6. This limit will now be 75 people. As such, and as our clubrooms are generous in size, we will not need a booking system anymore. We will revert to normal sessions with some restriction still in place. So those of you who have been booking session times can now simply turn up for a hit from Friday as you used to. 2. Non-members and Public will be welcome back Due to the restriction we have been limiting practice to members only. This will lift from this Friday 19/6 and Non-Members and the general public will again be welcome. Members practice fee will be $3 and Non-Members is $6. 3. Food and drink The consumption of food and drink will again be allowed in the clubrooms from Friday 19th of June. Any food or alcoholic beverages must be consumed only when seated at tables. 4. Doubles We have sought confirmation from TTSA who have confirmed with SAPOL that doubles are now allowed. So with immediate effect, doubles is permitted in the clubrooms again. 5. Toilets Due to the 4sq.m rule, toilets will remain limited to 1 person at a time. 6. Signing In and Out Signing In and Out will still need to occur as you have been doing. 7. Sanitising We ask you all to continue with hand sanitising and cleaning tables after use as you have been doing. Note: You don’t need to clean tables before use, only after. 8. Competition The club will look to commence its own internal Winter Competition in the coming weeks with a view of commencing in July and completion in September ready for our normal Spring season. Look out for emails about this in the coming days. 9. Brighton Social Group (Tuesday and Fridays) Due to the lifting of restrictions, the Tuesday and Friday daytime social group will recommence from this Friday 19/6. They will be open from normal times and there is now no need to book. Social play and doubles will be available for all. 10.
