22.01.2022 I had a lovely time exhibiting at Wedding Upmarket yesterday. It was really great meeting everyone. I got to show off my newest stationery suite collab with Pony and Ink. And FlowerTalk made the prettiest flower displays and helped make the table look amazing with the tableware. And thank you Christine Lim Photography for taking the pic of me on my iphone!

21.01.2022 Got to visit Ingrid Crow Mountain Papers studio this week and watched her papermaking in action! It was also a real treat to have @thearticulate help test the papers with her ink pens. These beautiful handmade papers are exclusively stocked here in our shop.

21.01.2022 Where has the time gone... I’ve been the owner of Bright Press for over a year. I’m having a massive print shop spring clean and have a stack of great cards with the old brand name (Whiteman Park Print Shop) on them. This clearance sale is from Thursday 26th November until 13 December. In-store and online. More info coming soon.

20.01.2022 Christmas in July. Fresh Lemon Print and I had the opportunity to open up another batch of prints that recently arrived for our print exchange. And here is Phil checking all the prints that have arrived so far as we prepare for our exhibition at Midland Junction Arts Centre later this year.

19.01.2022 How beautiful are these handmade cotton rag papers made by local papermaker Crow Mountain Paper! We now have some for sale in the shop. Packs of 8 in various colours. They letterpress print beautifully too!

18.01.2022 2021 CALENDAR // BTS - The artwork was produced using Lego tiles to create patterns. Printed with 3 bright spot colours and when overlapped created secondary colours. I decided to use my C&P 12x18 press as it was large enough to print 2 calendars at a time.

14.01.2022 The Governor of Western Australia, the Honourable Kim Beazley AC, stopped by the print shop for a visit last week. We had a lovely chat about letterpress printing (think it was mostly me talking animatedly about printing, hence the hand gestures etc). And the Governor had the opportunity to pull a print on his own.

12.01.2022 Very grateful to be a part of the Tied Up With Strings fundraiser and exhibition for Mundaring Arts Centre. Fifty-five artworks hidden inside identical wooden boxes were revealed last week at a special event. The project has challenged Western Australian artists to think inside the box and create small, intimate, covetable artworks sold sight unseen before the event. No two boxes are alike; with some boxes transformed into art themselves, while others act as temporary homes f...or small works. Mantras is a collection of 8 letterpress printed quotes of positivity and words of affirmations, and 4 metal stamps made of cast metal. The exhibition runs until 20 December 2020.

03.01.2022 Print sale for @printmakingasresistance global virtual art sale is still on until Friday 31st July!!! A couple people have asked what I did with the Lego, so I am going show the steps in how my print Always Was, Always Will Be was created. Yes, it went through the press 4 times! This is my interpretation of the Australian Aboriginal Flag. The flag was designed by Harold Thomas from Luritja people in Central Australia in 1971, as a symbol of unity and national identity for ...the Aboriginal people. There is symbolic meaning in the flag colours. Black represents the Aboriginal people of Australia. Yellow circle represents the Sun, the giver of life and protector. Red represents the red earth, the red ochre used in ceremonies, and Aboriginal peoples' spiritual relation to the land. Always Was, Always Will Be - recognising the First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. Proudly letterpress printed in Noongar Whadjuk country with LEGO and Ludlow metal type. 100% of the proceeds for this print will be donated to Aboriginal Legal Service of Western Australia Inc (ALSWA) https://www.als.org.au/.
