25.01.2022 Judgement, separation, condemnation and ignorance can only live in the mind. They dont reside in the heart. When we perceive the world through our heart, and go heart-led into our interactions, we see that there is infinite love and possibility within everything and everyone. From the sweetest of moments to the most challenging. The separation between us dissolves, and opportunity for growth, connectedness and shared experience takes place. Living from the heart reminds us t...hat we are all miraculous expressions of the same universal truth. Orient yourself here and let your heart flow freely. It will always know the way. #vedicmeditation #meditate #heart #flow #transcend
25.01.2022 Nature shows her love through flowers.
25.01.2022 Anxiety plays out in many forms. Fear, worry, panic, resistance, control, phobias, obsessions, fixations. Its the endless taunting of the mind of how the future is unsafe, something bad is going to happen and how not-ok everything is. I know, because anxiety has been a pretty dominant force in my life. Its directed, guided and controlled so much of how I live. Its what brought me to meditation, when I had the idea that maybe theres another way. Slowly, with a lot of work,... I peeled back the layers of anxiety and surrendered to the process. And I learned how to do this through my meditation practice. VM is essentially a daily practice of letting go. Of surrendering our attachment to the mind and its stories, and of orienting ourselves from a deeper place of Being. As we centre ourselves in this place, we unravel and release all the old patterns that held us back. It takes time, and its not always easy, but its the only path to true freedom, grace, flow and joy. #vedicmeditation #meditate #transcend #letgo #melbournemeditation
24.01.2022 Re-aligning with Natures intelligence. Moving more into her rhythms, returning to our place as part of the wider ecosystem, rather than an external force that controls it. Freedom comes when we live in harmony with Natures ways.
24.01.2022 Something I am always speaking to students about is seeking results outside, when looking for indications that their meditation practice is working. We dont meditate in order to feel good only in those 2x 20 minute sessions a day. We meditating for the other 23 hours and 20 minutes. To enliven our full potential, shed stress from our daily experience, improve our sleep, increase our energy, clarity and creativity. These are the markers that indicate whether we are getting g...ood at meditating. No one learns to meditate because they want to get good at meditation, we learn to meditate because it makes get good at LIFE Pic from our first ever meditators book club picnic, back when the weather was warm and we were allowed to do such things. #vedicmeditation #meditate #learntomeditate #transcend #meditation
21.01.2022 THE ABILITY TO SEE Regular meditation sharpens our intuition muscle, and gives us greater ability to discern and read between the lines of the moment. We can sense when there may be more to a situation, or what someone is saying. A friend may be sharing a problem with us, and we may be able to pick up on the subtle cues of how theyre really feeling or what theyre really saying. We can read the room and instinctively feel the energy. With this power comes great responsib...ility, and as meditators we have a duty to take this knowledge and perception and respond in a way that uplifts and propels the moment in the direction of the positive. This is Miso, our little foster cat. Its been fun learning to read him and understand him. Most of the time its just a desire for biscuits and naps.
20.01.2022 Where do you seek inspiration, connection and greater understanding? For me, it’s in nature. Observing her rhythms, her messages on how to live. She always has an answer, even when I’m not even sure how to articulate my question.
20.01.2022 A quote from one of my top 5 favourite books of all time: Action on behalf of life transforms. Because the relationship between self and the world is reciprocal, it is not a question of first getting enlightened or saved and then acting. As we work to heal the earth, the earth heals us. - from Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer

20.01.2022 What are you putting your attention on? This doesnt mean we bury our head in the sand and ignore the current situation. But it does mean we recognise that they way we act next is of vital importance. To we want to perpetuate the situation were in, or do we want to innovate, change direction and use it as opportunity to grow and learn, even in the seemingly smallest of ways?
20.01.2022 Embracing what is, rather than what was supposed to be. I was supposed to be in Japan right now. Instead, Im having an experience I (and probably most of us!) didnt expect to have. But many of us would agree that the learnings that have taken place through this are signs that we needed to have the experience were having. If it werent, we would be having some other experience. When we understand this, we can let go and let life flow, and let ourselves be carried with it..., and primed to properly experience whats on offer in the moment. Its much less exhausting, disappointing and frustrating when we take the approach of moving with life, rather than gritting against. Doesnt mean we dont feel triggered, but it means we can see the deeper purpose and gifts that lie in wait for us to discover them. 19.01.2022 There is an aspect of all of us that is always peaceful, always calm and always present. It exists even when we are caught up in our mind, in our stories, in our dramas. There, waiting, beneath the surface is that aspect, and, in truth, it is your real Self. All we need to do is find practices that allow us to dive down below the surface layer of our awareness and into the depths of our Being, where all peace and love resides. #vedicmeditation #meditation #meditate #vedic #transcendence
18.01.2022 The twenty minutes that change everything! Restrictions are easing and were beginning to slowly move out of our hibernation. The question is, how are you re-entering the world? Will it be with stress, worry, a lack of clarity and focus? Or will it be with grace, ease, gratitude and calm? I have ONE space left in my next course from 27-30 June so DM me to claim it! #vedicmeditation #meditate #transcendence #learntomeditate #melbournemeditation
18.01.2022 A poem I wrote on meditation, and the gifts it brings ~ We blur the lines of where Self ends, And awaken to more clarity.... We unlearn what never mattered anyway, And create space to re-learn the truth. We transcend everything, So that we can return to where it all began. We close the eyes, And learn to see again. We bathe in stillness, And emerge in greater flow. We release the grip of control, And realise we never had it anyway. And, as we swim in the waters of unknowing, Slowly, we begin to know. ~ Emily
18.01.2022 #challengeaccepted I LOVE when women lift each other up and celebrate each other. Thank you @annayoungferris and @_natashamason for sharing this challenge with me! May we continue to uplift, lead from the heart and cultivate a world of peace, freedom, love and support for all
17.01.2022 I gave this little note to my friend @purerock28 and now it feels like its re-circulating at the most perfect time. This weird time is definitely a test of faith. Not so much in a god or any otherworldly entity, but in ourselves and our ability to adapt, recover and evolve both individually and collectively. Will we? Who knows! But thats where faith comes in. Faith in ourselves, faith in others, faith in the situation, faith in the unknown

15.01.2022 Come sit with me in-person Vedic meditation course starting this weekend: 13-16 June at my home studio in Thornbury. Vedic meditation is easy, effortless and effective. It doesnt require us to get rid of thoughts, awkward sitting positions or practising for 10 hours a day. Instead, its a simple daily technique done with minimal effort, yet with maximum results: greater calm, inner stability, creativity, clarity, connection and flow. DM me for details and to register.
15.01.2022 Dont forget to sanitise your mind, folks Keep your head up and your hands to yourself, and remember that this too shall pass. Sending you all infinite love
14.01.2022 Learn Vedic meditation: private courses available at reduced rates! My twice-daily meditation practice has been my anchor in these strange times. Its helped me navigate the uncertainty and anxiety with a deeper sense of trust, peace and knowingness. In lieu of the regular group courses, I am offering private courses at the regular group rate of $800 (instead of the $1350 private rate). For you, this means a four-day course with private instruction into the art and science of... effortless meditation. Ive already taught several people this way, and its been such a joy to share it with them in this format. It means you get to begin life as a meditator and support your nervous system during these challenging times and to receive this practice in the most optimal of settings. I can come to you, or you can come to my (extra sanitary) home studio, and we will conduct the course with all necessary distancing measures. If youd like to know more or book your dates, drop me a message
13.01.2022 I just finished listening to a wonderfully insightful podcast with @susandavid_phd on the @melissaambrosini show, and this, towards the end, got me right in the heartspace. It was a reminder that even when we are scared, uncertain or worried about how something might turn out, we can still take a step forward. That we dont need to get rid of fear in order to act. That courage and fear may co-exist, and that we can still do great things, even if it frightens the hell out of us.
12.01.2022 If youve been practising Vedic or Transcendental meditation for 12+ months, you can receive your advanced mantra. Advanced mantras shift our practice, and allow us to more palpably integrate the Being state of meditation with our eyes open state. To learn more about this, Im running a free online intro talk on Tuesday 5 May at 7pm. Well discuss what they are, how its taught, and how to discern when youre ready to receive it. If youve been meditating 12 or more months and would like to attend, please send me a message with your email address and Ill send you the Zoom link
12.01.2022 For anyone who is doing the work, when we find ourselves back in old habits, playing into old storylines or acting out of old behaviours, its tempting to think we have regressed or change personal change isnt possible for us, or has hit its limit. No. Youre growing. Youre always growing in the right direction. Youve had the realisation, but the actualisation can take time to integrate. Stay present, stay committed, but take the pressure off. Youll get wherever youre meant to be in your own divine time
10.01.2022 Ive been digging deep into what kind of teacher I am, and how I show up to support my students and the community. Its a funny thing to do, and Ive tried before, but always wound up settling on values that were probably what I thought they should be, or what others had written for themselves. This time though, I dug a little deeper. I wrote a lot about how I truly wanted to show up, and how I wanted students to feel when they learned with me. I asked friends, family and s...tudents to share what they saw when they interacted with me, and low and behold, they all said similar things, and those things were very similar to what Id said about myself - so yay for being on track and already living them! I then worked with my dear, friend, fellow teacher and coach @leadingbeings to drill down into it and refine them even more. The result are these six values. These are the ways of being I hold close to my heart when I step up as teacher. They underpin and guide everything I do, from courses and talks to group meds and private support. Swipe to have a read, and let me know, do you have values that you live by? See more
10.01.2022 Ahh the sense of coming home that many meditators experience with their practice. As we unlearn all the ways that blocked the true expression of ourselves, we gradually return to what was always there. A little buried, somewhat forgotten, but never gone. The deeper you, the you that you were always meant to be and express in this world x

Limitations apply, but it’s already proving to be super effective and an absolute game changer during these challenging times. 08.01.2022 Vedic meditation is practised for twenty minutes twice a day. That often gets a few wide eyes when I say that. Many of us think, who has the time? And to be honest, who doesnt? The average person spends 2 hours and 23 minutes on social media a day, and think nothing of it. Most of us think were doing busy to meditate, but actually youre too busy not to. Imagine if you traded forty minutes of your day for increased amounts of productivity, clarity, creativity and calm. For most, that colossal amount of time ends up being a tiny investment, with a huge return. As a wise sage once said, if you think youre too busy to meditate for 20 minutes, you should meditate for an hour. #vedicmeditation #meditate #consciousness #melbournemeditation

07.01.2022 When we let go of control or expectation, suffering ceases. We step out of our ideas and into the reality of life. When we can accept and acknowledge something exactly as it is, we experience more peace, less friction and greater flow.... It doesnt mean we lie down and do nothing, but by first taking the step of accepting something, we move into a position that will be better able to make positive change

04.01.2022 Exciting news! After a lot of contemplation, I have developed an amended Vedic meditation course that will mean you can learn to meditate now, in a way that stays as true to the intended format as possible, while also adhering to the current lock down requirements. As you probably know, Vedic meditation is traditionally taught face-to-face. I stand by this wholeheartedly, as I know how much the in-person aspect contributes to the experience, and giving you the very best is im...portant to me. But I also cant ignore the situation were in, the mental health struggles that are plaguing so many and how incredibly valuable a regular and effective meditation practice is right now. Ive seen how much my existing students have leaned on their practice, and what a pillar of support it has been as they navigate these turbulent times. In the interim course you will still receive the exact same technique, knowledge and support as the regular course. Itll just look a little different. Youll learn over 4 sessions with a mix of in-person and online, with extra support as well as the usual ongoing support that comes with learning Vedic meditation. Youll also get to enjoy a reduced course fee, and flexible times for your sessions. Meditation enables us to think creatively and with flexibility so that we can adapt to whatever life throws at us, so with that sentiment I offer this option to you, and Im super confident that youll be able to learn with ease, enjoyment and results. If you are roughly 5 km from Thornbury and would like to learn more, DM me your email address and Ill send you details. We got this, Melbourne! A special thank you my teacher @laura_poole for sharing her ideas on this with me and for always being so generous with her wisdom and guidance
04.01.2022 Im re-posting this photo, this time for the purpose the black and white was intended for - in solidarity with the women of Turkey fighting for their right to live and end the long history of femicide. #pnargltekin #istanbulszlemesiyaatr #kadinasiddetehayir Turkey is very dear to my heart, and when I posted the original photo, I was unknowingly hijacking attention from a very real problem facing Turkish women (and many many women all over the globe). While the original... intention was not wrong, I apologise for not reading deeper before my original post. I dedicate this post to the women in Turkey who have been lost, and those who are bravely speaking out in the protests - speaking out always requires a level of bravery, and in Turkey, even more so. Pnar Gltekin is the latest in what Turkey can only call a pandemic of violence against women. When I lived there I saw many, many news reports of women who were murdered by their husbands and boyfriends. Murdered for ending the relationship. Murdered for their sexuality. Murdered for their choice of clothing. I stand in solidarity with you all, and I thank @caroline_wolfe_meditation for educating me, and all other women who have spoken out after realising their error - that is what true female empowerment and support looks like. Please feel free to comment with any insights, education, resources etc that you may have. Emily x See more
03.01.2022 Friends who meditate together it can be tricky to stay accountable and committed to your meditation practice sometimes, and thats where having friends who meditate can be super helpful. Even if they practice a different technique to you, its a wonderful way to stay accountable and motivated. Plus, as you grow and change with your practice, its nice to have people in your life who get it, you know? If you dont have many people like this around you, make sure youre coming along to group meditation meetings - this is where many meditators make life-long friendships and connections with like/minded folk. Tag your meditation buddy below or reach out to me (or your teacher) and find out when your next group med meeting is on!
03.01.2022 Ceremony before you receive your personal mantra and instructions for practice, I perform a short ceremony of gratitude. Its a beautiful way to pay tribute to the teachers who have kept this practice alive over time. Its also an opportunity for me to set the intention to share Vedic meditation with you with the utmost of integrity and commitment to passing it on in the way it was intended, so that you have all the tools and knowledge for practising easily, with the right outcomes. Everyone always loves this ceremony, even the sceptics, and it sets such a beautiful tone for what is to follow
01.01.2022 Book club for Vedic meditators returns with book number three! This time were diving into Glennon Doyles Untamed. Untamed is a passionate look at what happens when a woman rejects the social conditioning and institutional expectations on her and instead learns to listen to her own inner voice of who and what she is. Doyle says, "when we quit abandoning ourselves and instead abandon the worlds expectations of us, we become women who can finally look at our lives and recogni...ze: There She Is. Untamed is about how to be brave. Here is what Ive learned: The braver we are, the luckier we get." This book club has blossomed into the most nurturing, expansive and heart-led community of readers. If youd like to join us, wed love to have you. Send me a message with your email and Ill send you all the details, then grab your copy of Untamed and dive in!
01.01.2022 When you feel triggered, its a sign youve hit the boundary of an imposed fear, belief or idea. Its tempting to shy away from feeling the feels that come with this, but in fact its moving through them that allows them to transform. As they release, youre gifted the opportunity to learn (or unlearn) from them, and begin to replace them with something new: a new belief, a new idea or a new perspective. This is growth in motion
