10.01.2022 The children have been enjoying the sensory experience of playdough. Playdough helps develop children's fine motor skills which they will need later for holding pencils, cutting with scissors. It helps develop social skills "You have more than me!" children negotiate fairness and sharing during the experience as more children join in the fun. They explored a variety of concepts through their experience with the playdough. Eve and Evelyn explored patterns. "Look what the shell does". Some children explored the patter imprints that natural loose parts objects made in the playdough. Others used it as agent to hold materials together to build their creations.

09.01.2022 We wish all our families a bright and happy Christmas and you enjoy this special time with your children.

09.01.2022 The children have been exploring ramps. We challenged ourselves and each other to see who could get their car to go down the ramp and up the other side. The children worked closely with each other, testing out their ideas and making adjustments to the ramp. This provided numerous opportunities for problem solving, mathematical thinking, collaborating with each other by sharing ideas and thoughts. We then explored other materials that could go down the ramp such as round bloc...ks. Here are some of the comments from the children during the experience. T- We need to make it higher. A - It’s not getting enough traction. The wheels are slipping on the ramp. J- We need a bigger car. Its not heavy enough. M- we need sides on the ramp to stop the car from falling off. See more

09.01.2022 This week has been a very busy week for excursions. We have been out in the community. We were able to go for a drive on the Bright Sparks Bus to go and see the Jacaranda trees, and to visit John’s Farm. We were able to feed the cows and see the calves. Look at all the trees A said I live down this street Z said My brother goes to that school M said "Why doesn't the bull have horns?" M said ... We have been getting into the Jacaranda spirit by walking down to get ice cream from the Iscream Shop. The ice cream Excursion will continue through until next week. Excursions provide valuable opportunities to develop children's curiosity about their community. It allows Educators to plan for experiences that interest the children. Most importantly the children have fun!
