23.01.2022 Memories from 2015 on my old account Im so glad that Im still getting happy students and families.

23.01.2022 Hey all, I just want to get real for a second. Im feeling very lucky that during this time of total lockdown (as of Tuesday) I will still be able to keep my employees working and running tutoring lessons on Skype. ... I will be running Skype lessons at a reduced price of $35 per hour because I know that many people wont be working right now or have had their hours cut and therefore not bringing in as much. I plan most of my lessons myself and my staff deliver the lessons so I split up payments fairly between the time it takes me to plan and create resources + paying staff. I will personally be taking less money so I can keep my staff members working but Im asking for some support. If you can invite your friends to like my page or write a review or recommend us to someone looking for a tutor I would be very grateful and Im sure my beautiful staff will too. As always flexibility is what I believe in, if youre a bit tight on money for the moment let me know. I dont believe that students should miss out on education especially during this time. Im sure we can work out a payment plan or something if needed. Help me support my employees and share the love by inviting your friends to like our page. Stay safe, Tiana.

22.01.2022 Attention homeschooling parents! Bright Stars Tutoring As a teacher I will happily write your child/ren a personalised program based on the curriculum and your child's prior knowledge, needs and learning style.... I can also deliver the lessons myself on Skype or FaceTime for anyone who prefers that. Otherwise parents can deliver lessons. I will supply lesson plans and resources. I will email all work to parents/students. Pricing will depend on the number of hours work you would like per week/day however I can let you know that this is going to be significantly less than the cost of private tutoring. I'm not here to take advantage of the pandemic, I also can't work for free, however I don't want to see students fall behind or return to school and then be faced with added challenges. I'm here to try and help the community and our students to also keep life feeling a bit 'normal'. I'm a VERY flexible teacher and believe in teaching the way students need, so I will tutor the same and am flexible with hours, delivery etc. Schools should be providing work for students should they lockdown and I would recommend they do the assigned tasks. The work I supply will be to ensure that your children are having their own needs met and to ensure that they are being challenged and able to continue taking steps forward. I will also update my planners for your children daily if needed. Call me on 0432 310 374 or message me to discuss your needs and pricing. Stay safe everyone, Tiana.

21.01.2022 Wishing all of our students and their lovely families a very happy and safe Easter From the team at Bright Stars Tutoring

20.01.2022 STRATEGIES STRATEGIES STRATEGIES! This is some addition I did with Miss Year 2

16.01.2022 This is my planner and as you can see I include curriculum links. I do this to ensure that students are working towards their expected level and I plan for private tutoring lessons just as I plan for students at school. By using the Victorian Curriculum as the foundation for my tutoring, I am able to teach students what they need to know to smash their goals at school.

14.01.2022 Hi all, Firstly I would like to thank all my caring clients for your patience as I extended my maternity leave to take care of my daughter. I will now be resuming services so please inbox me (as I am having technical difficulties with my phone) to arrange lessons.... I hope that you have all been well. Regards, Tiana

13.01.2022 My students learn pretty quickly that I am not a traditional teacher! I do not teach out of a textbook and I always differentiate my teaching so my students learn their way. Even when I've got 2 students in the same year level, I don't reuse my resources, I'm constantly creating new ones based on how they learn! I've been working with a student on reading and numbers and the activity below using cars shows just one of the activities I create to suit my individual learning st...yles. I am a big follower of Howard Gardener's multiple intelligences. In the classroom I have allowed for students to present their work to me in ways which they are most able/comfortable. The fundamental point of assessment is for students to demonstrate learning and understanding however just like the image attached, not every animal can do the same test of climbing the tree, some will pass but some won't even be able to try! I've allowed students to, for example present their oral assessments just in front of myself and not the class or present it to me with images or as a written piece. I've even had students record their oral tasks and send them to me. Public speaking is a great skill and I'm all for teaching this and giving students confidence however when it comes to assessment a bright student should have the opportunity to show off their learning their way. This way they will be able to best represent and show off their understanding. I'm certainly an 'out of the box' teacher and I'm always coming up different ways of teaching students. Not everyone will agree with my teaching style but here's the thing, some students and teachers just connect and when they share a good relationship that can be fundamental to effective teaching. Everybody is different including teachers, I strive to reach all students and teach something new to every child in my private tutoring lessons/class. Ultimately: I teach the way that your child learns. See more

12.01.2022 WERE HIRING Over the last few weeks tutoring demand has drastically increased. Im looking at hiring a few pre-service teachers or teachers to join the Bright Stars Tutoring currently solo team! This opportunity will give a PST the chance to gain industry experience before even finishing university.... Questions for PST: 1. How many years are you into your teaching degree? 2. University are you attending? 3. What days/times are you available? 4. Do you have any tutoring experience? 5. Are you studying primary or secondary? 6. Do you have any majors? 7. Why would you be a good tutor? 8. How would you deal with misbehaving students? Questions for teachers: 1. How many years have you been teaching? 2. Which year levels have you taught? 3. Where are you currently teaching and what year level? 4. Do you have experience tutoring? 5. What makes you a suitable candidate? If you have any questions please send me a message. Regards, Tiana.

12.01.2022 So at the beginning of the lesson, I had a student tonight who said he couldnt work out similar questions. Well well well, Mr Year 6 did them all correctly using the strategies I taught him so I left him some fun homework. No calculator allowed and he will need to show me all of his working out #proudteacher #teacherwin #proudtutor #tutoringwin

12.01.2022 Bright Stars Tutoring is now accepting students for Prep Prep(aration). Students commencing Prep in 2019. Running half hour lessons. ... We will be covering basic Mathematics (numbers and shapes) and English (writing) skills to best prepare students for what is ahead next year. Give your child a 'bright' head start. Call 0432 310 374 to book. Limited places available.

11.01.2022 CORONAVIRUSEDUCATION FOR PRIMARY/SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTSTUTORING If you're concerned about your child's education during this coronavirus pandemic, we...'re going help by adding more lessons to our calendars. If schools do close down and we are all put into lockdown, we will still be having Skype sessions. We will continue to plan using the Victorian Curriculum. We will email parents or students materials to print or access on a device. We will then go through our lesson just as we would in a face to face setting. Teachers are currently being told to learn how to use an online platform such as Google Classroom to send students work, should schools shut down. We will be here to continue to provide extra support by having Skype sessions during which time students can ask us questions and get an instant response. Plus we will continue to use the Victorian Curriculum to assess what students need to spend more time working on and support all goals. Call Tiana on 0432 310 374 to secure your time slot. P.s if we are all put into lockdown and can only run Skype lessons, our lessons will be at a reduced cost (personalised pricing depending on the number of hours you have per week). Our aim is to help students and their families during this stressful time and not take advantage of the pandemic! I understand that some of us depending on our work conditions may not be getting paid and parenting is stressful enough without all the pressures that come with this pandemic. #heretohelp #supportingourcommunity

09.01.2022 TEACHING MONEY - HOT TIP So you may want to teach your toddler or child how to count money or give change etc and if you're worried about the size of real or toy coins posing a risk to younger children or siblings, just print and laminate the coins. You may not be able to tell but the coins I printed for my 2.5 year old are about the size of my palm. We play ice cream and toy shop daily. I'm teaching him the value of the money based on the colour of the notes (for examp...le: all these cars cost a yellow $50 please and he hands me the yellow note). You can differentiate this to suit your own children but it's great for pretend play and learning more about numbers. Happy to send out the PDF version of my notes & coins. Always here to help especially during this confusing time as we transition to online distance learning. Have a great day, Tiana.

09.01.2022 This is a really great way of teaching kids number sequences! Ive got cupcake liners and write numbers on them you can essentially write as many numbers as you can fit pom-poms. Using the tongs, students are to put the correct number of pom-poms in each case, counting one at a time. As students get better with this activity I change the order of numbers and add numbers up to 20. All my students love this, its fun, they are learning fine motor skills and the meaning of numbe...rs! This activity can also be used to teach addition or subtraction so the pom-poms can be added or taken out of the cases and counted. There are many options with this activity. I love using cupcake cases are the options are endless. I use these to teach my toddler numbers and, colours and shapes. Options are endless! #weteachhowstudentslearn #creativetutors #passionate #teachingoutsideofthebox #makelearningfun
