24.01.2022 Our speech pathologist Team Leader, Sarah Cording, loves this app and recommends it for the many children she works with during her speech therapy sessions. The app is called Lego Junior. It is a basic, fun and colourful app. It is suitable for ages 3+ and the regular updates add continual new elements to keep it interesting.It is also FREE! https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/lego-juniors/id491075156 This app can assist in developing your child’s receptive language skills suc...h as their ability to follow instructions (e.g. ask your child to select certain clothes for the driver and wheels to put on the car), colour concepts and even their expressive language skills (ask your child to describe what they see when driving along the track). This program is suitable for children in Kindergarten through to Year 6 experiencing reading or writing difficulties. This program provides parents with training and evidence-based strategies to assist and guide the development of their child’s life communication skills. The ‘It Takes Two to Talk’ program established by the world-leading Hanen Centre in Toronto, Canada, is conducted by our two Hanen certified Speech Pathologists from Brindabella Hearing & Speech Centre.... The course will be held at our Bruce clinic, commencing on Wednesday 8 August and runs for 11 weeks from 5:00 - 7:30 PM Wednesdays. The app is called, ‘Oz Phonics’ and it has a range of activities that assist children with their literacy skills It is a simple, engaging and effective program that utilises evidence based techniques to support a child’s reading and spelling development.
