22.01.2022 Here's a lovely Aldi roast turkey that we did tonight, with Roast Potato, Sweet Potato, Swede, Turnip, Carrot and perfect peas. Cooking time was 3hrs, when I checked it the roast was already quite well done on the top so I left it closed (the Aldi directions say to open up the foil for the roast for the last 30 mins of cooking). For the kids we did a ham and pineapple version, and were going with a meatlovers variation for the second pizza, which included some continental chorizo. 21.01.2022 Yes, this is the fan-favorite ham and pineapple but we replaced the ham with bacon. Nothing too extreme other than those ingredients, cooked on a pre-baked 1/2 sourdough base with tomato and oregano. Ingredients: 1/2 punnet of Swiss Brown mushrooms About 3-4 rashers bacon pizza cheese, base and dough Start by pre-cooking the bacon and mushrooms in a little butter. Cook until ingredients are cooked and mushrooms are golden brown. Here's a recipe using some leftover christmas ham from the freezer, and a spin on the usual ham and pea pasta. 15.01.2022 Tonight we wanted to try something with some leftover kebabs - why not put them on a pizza ! Kebabs (or skewers) were made up of lamb cubes, 3 colours of capsicum, mushrooms and zucchini. BBQ until cooked. All we did here was put them straight onto the pizza, although to scale things down a little we put the knife through the ingredients just to chop them up a bit. 14.01.2022 This is a meatlovers variant (just a bunch of mixed meats from the deli), but we wanted to add a little olive and yellow tomato to bring down the amount of meat involved. 12.01.2022 Our kids have been pleading with us to do another bliss pizza, but we didn't have the ingredients on hand. Here's the alternative, the standard nutella pizza with melted marshmallow on top. The only real secret to a nutella pizza is to pre-cook the base and then add the nutella, in the case of adding marshmallow just put them back in the oven until they melt down. 09.01.2022 Here's a meatlovers pizza which we put together with some cuts from the deli. This is a really cheap alternative to purchasing the ingredients separately, and the variation of meats really helps with the meatlovers style. Nothing further added other than mozarella, base is pre-baked tomato with a bit of oregano. This crust is a mix of our personal sourdough, but this time we added to the mix with a fresh dough, and allowed to rise again. 08.01.2022 Love this pizza, just remember to pre-cook the mushrooms in garlic and butter to really infuse the flavour. We also added garlic to the pizza base which really made the garlic pop in this pizza. 08.01.2022 Here's another roast, getting quite adept at a chicken roast which we purchase pre-butterflied at the supermarket. 2 hrs covered with tinfoil, and then keep an eye on it uncovered until it gets a nice blackened crust to taste. Veg gets the same treatment. If you haven't tried pizza-oven chicken roast, you are seriously missing out ! 08.01.2022 This is a fantastic pizza that we wanted to try, which is an easier recipe than making a bechamel sauce. Ingredients: 3 cloves garlic 2 tsp olive oil 1/2 spanish onion, cut into rings 1 continental chorizo 3 spoons sour cream broccoli - blanched for 5 mins mozarella cheese This pizza requires a little bit of preparation, firstly brown the onions and then add the chorizo to start releasing the oils. Although you can't see it very well in the pictures, the artichoke hearts gave the pizza a wonderful antipasto feel. 04.01.2022 Here's a fresh marinara recipe which is a slight variation of previous examples. The dough was only a day old (typically we use a sourdough), which made it really bubbly and soft. 03.01.2022 This pizza came off an internet search when we wanted to cook a pizza using goats cheese, once votes were counted we selected this one. Ingredients: 6-8 mushrooms 3 cloves garlic goats cheese a little olive oil Firstly slice and cook the mushrooms in a little butter. Leave the mushrooms for long periods to develop that dark colour.
