24.01.2022 PERSONAL UPDATE I've been absent from social media for the last little while, and it's been lovely. I don't know about you, but I find the 'noise' here can get a little too much sometimes. I feel it slowly and gradually draw my energy away from me.... Not in a way that I'm not present in my own life, but the quality of my energy and presence is less. Any of you who've done class with me know the exercises we do in visualizing our own energy. We begin by imagining our own energy as a colour. As we dance together, our colours form a tapestry of all our energies on the dance floor, a rainbow painting. Right now, I'm a week away from turning 40. It feels like a rite of passage for me, a perfect time to pause and reflect, and take (as I'm calling it!) a Midlife Breath It's time to step away from the rainbow painting of the world, the noise of the internet, and nestle in my cancerian shell in full presence with myself, grounded in my own colour. So, I jumped on today to let you know...if you need me..you won't find me here! We are waiting out the lockdown to recommence classes in person, so I have no need to be online until SASS fires up again. I'll still be contactable via email, just go through the website https://www.bringthesass.com.au/ While you're there...I've left you a fresh blog to read, called The Great Cosmic Joke I look forward to connecting with you all soon. In the meantime, I hope you can also find space for your own colour to shine bright and clear. I'll leave you with this parting nugget, for when you find yourself washed in colours not your own.... "You are only ever two deep breaths away from yourself".... my friend, circa 2019 Peace out my loves, I'll catch you on the flipside! Jess xxx
24.01.2022 POST DANCE HAPPY GLOW & SASS UPDATE Last night, we wrapped up our online SASS series. I have so many feels about this, and to be honest, this picture describes them best. I'm left with a heart glowing full of gratitude, and love for SASS and our tribe. ... It was a really special experience to share. We waded through the restrictions the best way we could, connecting as much as we could through the screen, and created a beautiful space together. I'm so grateful for everyone who showed up, and supported me in the process. (Especially my hubby who got kicked out of the loungeroom every Thursday night!) I know I could've kept online classes going, but to be honest, it just feels like time to rest them. There's only so much we can do online, and it feels as if we've reached it's limits, before SASS loses potency. I've said from the very beginning I will always honour the integrity of SASS as a practice, and when I feel it's asking something of me, I listen. There is so much more to come through SASS, but it needs to be in person. I'm planning for the return of in-person classes in August, but numbers will be limited. Existing students have priority for the limited spaces, and I am taking a waitlist for new students. If you'd like to be put on it, send me a message. In the meantime, I'll just be over here in gratitude and reflection for what was, in the world of SASS Online. See more

16.01.2022 A parting gift (omg, so dramatic ), before I disable socials for a little while... A piece of writing, a little different from what I normally share here! A look at the world, through my eyes. It's by no means intending to minimise what people are feeling and experiencing right now, more of a philosophical take on the current state of the world.... It's called 2020: The Great Cosmic Joke. "What an interesting year it's been so far, hey?! Even as we embark on Lockdown 2.0, I must admit I'm finding some humour amidst the chaos...." 13.01.2022 If there's one thing I've heard everyone say in this pandemic, it's "I'm not looking forward to the world speeding up again". The slowness has given us all of our nervous systems a much needed reset, and our bodies have remembered what our natural rhythm feels like. Using your natural rhythm as a guidance system in life is an incredibly powerful tool. ... If you can remain connected to it, you will make better decisions resulting in more ease and flow. It may feel easy now, but how do we do remain connected with our own rhythm, when the rhythm of the world speeds up again? I'm really excited to be delving into this topic in tonight's class, and exploring it through our dance. If this sounds like it could help you, bookings open until 5pm https://www.bringthesass.com.au/events/
13.01.2022 Re my last post: Here is a snippet of my messy morning energy clearing, fuck-off-outta-my-body-uncertainty dance. *yes I'm in a wetsuit, because when the dance hits, nothing else matters. ... https://www.bringthesass.com.au/book-now/
09.01.2022 We have a new term starting tomorrow, and I haven't shared much about it at all, for two reasons. One's really cosmic, and the other, a grounded reality. On a cosmic-magic-of-the-universe scale, I'm developing a deeper sense of trust that the right people will be drawn to classes, and sometimes I just like to play with that! But my earthly perspective is less interesting. Quite simply, I was very tired from a big year so far. I needed to step back from SAS...S for a week, and realign myself. I don't believe in "pushing sales" for classes at the best of times. In my experience, it's not numbers in classes that make them powerful, it's how invested people are when they're there. That's why I believe in generating interest from the right people, by sharing my passion for SASS through our social media, blogs and in conversations. When my passion doesn't feel as close to the surface, and I can't get my words out without feeling "pushy"...it's a sure sign I'm a bit burnt out! The second I honour that by giving myself some space and time, my inspiration flows back in with full force...like it did at 5am yesterday morning I'm happy to report I'm feeling refreshed and reinspired to return to classes tomorrow night! I can't wait to see you, if you are meant to be there! https://www.bringthesass.com.au/events/
07.01.2022 WHERE I'M AT..behind the scenes of my 2020 I've been super reflective lately. I think the combination of covid and my approaching 40th birthday has catapulted me into myself. It's been nice to spend time with all that has been bubbling for me in the last little while, because this year has been a busy one....Continue reading
06.01.2022 FREEDOM Surfing and dancing are the two things that make me feel the most free, because I'm so present in the moment. My relationship with freedom isn't what it used to be, and I wrote a blog about it.... It occured to me I'm great at posting blogs to our website, but not so great at sharing them here. So, here is the link... https://www.bringthesass.com.au/i-always-had-a-lust-for-fr/ And PS. If you want to read monthly SASS blogs hot off the press, I share them via our mailing list first, here's the signup link https://www.bringthesass.com.au/connect/ Photography By Nadine
05.01.2022 Just a bit of casual goddess worship Happy birthday to our beautiful Amanda! I still remember the first conversation we had over the phone when you enquired about classes, and how excited I was to meet you! I'm just as excited to get back to dancing in person with you, soon. Hope you have an awesome birthday xxx
02.01.2022 UNCERTAINTY. It's something that's been very present in the world lately. I find it the most uncomfortable of all feelings, because it doesn't have an end point. In my minds eye, I see uncertainty as murky, grey, and sludgey, with a dense, heavy energy. ... If I were to put a word to it, it would be BLERRRGH. How do we sit comfortably with a feeling like that?? I think if we let uncertainty just sit there, try to ignore it, or try to 'positive think' it away... it gets stuck in our body. It will then go on to creates blocks in our energy field because it's sooo dense and gross. The only way is to move it. Acknowledge that you are feeling it, then release it. Dance, scream, cry, sing...just allow it to MOVE THROUGH YOUR BODY. Do it as often as you need to, whenever you feel the heaviness of uncertainty weighing down your system. You have the power to unblock yourself This is what we will be focussing on in tonight's online class, so bring all the shit you want to move, and we'll do it together https://www.bringthesass.com.au/book-now/
