23.01.2022 Good morning lovelies! COVID-19 ... whilst we are all still in various different states of lockdowns and restrictions with a virus that’s wreaking havoc across the globe, it’s interesting to sit back and see what positive changes this has brought about also. In part, we have come back to ‘home’ ... and for some this has brought a reflection about what home actually means to us or how our family lives and functions here. It’s also made the world smaller... as business has had ...to adapt to a new way of working, a new way to deliver content which once was face to face but now is delivered online allowing people who couldn’t previously attend due to distance to now be present or participate. On Wednesday last week, I sat in on a discussion about Biophilic Design with Richard Taylor / a physicist from the University of Oregon. I’d heard the term previously, but like many others, hadn’t actually grasped the true concept behind it. Now it’s clicked and I’m beyond fascinated - I’m engaged. What’s truly caught me attention is the D value of fractals (natural patterns) as they apply to persons with Dementia and on the ASD spectrum. 22.01.2022 Master bedroom ensuite done right! . Originally this ensuite was a walk through as it was also the only place to wash your hands after visiting the powder room - but no more!! We renovated the powder room to include its own sink, closed off the walk through so that we also had a linen press - something this architecturally designed home had neglected, allowing us to now have a huge walk-in shower in the ensuite. Midnight blue cabinetry with Cesar stone tops, concrete basin...s with inbuilt shelf and heated floors make this one gorgeous room! . . 21.01.2022 Another sneak peek... This gorgeous client actually came on board after she moved the location of the kitchen after her rebuild had already started and things nearly went south. Together we started by revisiting her kitchen layout and started pulling together the finishes and selections here before moving onto the rest of the house.... oh the drapery we’ve chosen! Working together gave my client a new sense of confidence and she was able to fall in love with her project o...nce again. I can’t wait to show you her finished home! . 18.01.2022 Drapery perfection! With unfettered ocean views, we chose a Hoad sheer fabric that spans the length of the room right from the kitchen across. Sounds easy? This was over 5mtrs of CURVED track!! Mr Andrew from @southcoastflooringxtra did an amazing job getting the template right! Previously, the upstairs windows had individual Roman blinds which were bulky and being mounted on the arcs reduced the magnificent views.... These S-track drapes are fitted above the arcs and divided into panels giving the owners flexibility in how to draw them. . Oh and don’t forget / this stunning chair by @grazia_and_co - with a 360 degree swivel, you can just turn to face the view or to watch tv with the family. 15.01.2022 So... true to form... I started mucking about with layout for the new shop yesterday... and 24hrs later, it’s pretty much done and it’s full to the brim with gorgeousness!! I have to say though, I could not have achieved this feat without the help of all the fabulous women in my life... 01.01.2022 Before we started working out magic on Waikiki House, there was literally zero storage.... no broom cupboard, no linen press.... linen was kept in the rather small wardrobes in each of the bedrooms.... Today, there is a huge linen press upstairs sitting pretty where there was previously a walk through into the ensuite from both the master bedroom and the powder room. Then there’s this.... Under the stairs was a massive void but now, it’s all kitted out with shelving and hook...s. We didn’t want to lose the look of the stairs as a feature so the door was cut into the plaster with a push to open release... .
