16.01.2022 21st July 2020 - Hi MOULDY Ones - we really need to see a few more of you next week - only 5 today and such a beautiful model in Jess with her wonderful twisty... exuberant poses - elfin and delightful. The Life Drawing room has improved immeasurably with no smell of mould thanks to the dedication of Christine Organ and the ladies who open up for us from the Sewing Group. Such a difference. There are still tests being completed to ensure no more mould, and I think Eluned and some of you would be comfortable drawing there in the warmth and lovely atmosphere. We have a strong new spotlight, giving our model far better clarity. Wonderful to see our Marianne return to the fold! We have missed you. Hope those of your who are still on the mend, can get back to art quickly. Where are our younger artists? Are you all studying now? So hope to see you back. 10 people are needed in all, to keep the Life Drawing group going so please do return - tell your friends - Top models from the Brisbane Bam Leeton Agency every Tuesday at TMCA (Tamborine Mountain Creative Arts) - at the Heritage Centre on Wongawallen Road. $20 for everything including the model, tea, coffee, biscuits, use of premises as well as the insurance. We arrive at 9.40am for a 10am start and finish at 12.30 with a break at 11am. There is plenty of space / distancing and we look forward to seeing you back, or new artists joining us. Have a safe happy week... 14.01.2022 15th Sept 2020 - Hi MOULDIES - Crazy times right now in so many places. So our art sanctuary is a blessing - lovely peaceful time sketching to great music. O...ur Cedar (model) ran out of petrol as her indicator had broken so didnt get to us till about 10.45am. During that time, we sketched each other and again, some wonderful outcomes. Thanks Peter for taking time out today so others could come. Oddly enough, two of our new regulars, didnt arrive so please, if you want to come, its first in, first listed. If you cant make it on the day, please text me - if you dont have my number, message me and Ill send it to you. Its really important to tell us as soon as possible and first thing in the morning at around 8am if you are not able to make it. That means I can call someone who missed out to join us. I did call Ron and he turned up this morning. Thanks Maureen for your early energy and setting up for everyone. It is very much appreciated - also handling the kitty. Gaye has spoken to Christine and kindly organised a rotation of our artwork in the big room. So if you have framed paintings or artwork that youd like to show, please let her know. We shall talk about it next week if Gaye comes. To those of you who are still healing or ill, we wish you better and are thinking of you. The Scarecrow Festival is on this week, so if you have the time, roam around and see the creative works of the Mt Tamborinians ... We received some television coverage from two channels last night. 10.01.2022 The tallest tree in Wales had been damaged by a storm and was supposed to be cut down, but a better solution was found. Natural Resource Wales, which was in cha...rge of the site, ordered artist Simon O'Rourke to cut down the tree. He thought of a giant hand, which symbolizes the giants, and the tree's last attempt to reach the sky. O'Rourke needed to add two pieces for the thumb and pinky as the tree wasn't large enough to form all the entire hand. Once completed, the sculpture was coated with tung oil, a natural vegetable oil safe for the closeness of the riverways. It's height: 50 feet (15 metres) See more
