25.01.2022 Some photos from a recent job. A broken leaf spring, certainly not something we see every day...

23.01.2022 Related to a couple of posts ago; this is the inside of the transfer on a Captiva we had in at the end of last year, finally got the chance to pull it apart. The bearing had collapsed causing catastrophic damage to the internal gears, all because the differential oil had never been checked. Such an avoidable, very expensive repair... Note: Captiva front diffs hold very little oil and are also very prone to leaks. It doesn't take much oil loss to cause all of this damage

22.01.2022 Well it's that time of year again we have closed our doors today for a nice little holiday. We will be returning on the 2nd of January bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. We hope you all have a wonderful and safe Christmas break, see you all in the new year!!

22.01.2022 "Slight" water leak in a WM Statesman. New water pump and set of o-rings going on this one

22.01.2022 Hi all, We will be closed over the Easter break, from Friday the 30th March to Monday the 2nd April and reopening on Tuesday the 3rd. Have a great long weekend and happy Easter from us at BAM!!

21.01.2022 This is what happens when cheap, poor quality shocks are installed. Terrible ride, car was bouncing everywhere (for obvious reasons...) Fixed up with a set of quality Pedders shocks

21.01.2022 These tyres were put on two weeks ago almost brand new. The bushes on these control arms have been flogged out so much that they have severely affected the wheel alignment. These arms should be mounted right in the middle of the bush, not off to the side as they are in these photos

19.01.2022 Well, bushes don't get much more torn than this...

18.01.2022 Haven't seen bushes this bad for a while!! Very long cracks between the voids, not good!!

16.01.2022 Good morning and happy (post) new year. We are back open today for a fresh new year, so if you've broken your 4x4 because of that silly thing you did over the break (you know what we're talking about...) we're here to help!!!

16.01.2022 Now that is a horribly dangerous tyre

16.01.2022 Wow, this customer was very lucky. The timing belt on this 90 series Land cruiser Prado was very overdue and very, very close to breaking. A broken timing belt can lead to even more serious and expensive repairs

10.01.2022 Good morning all. We will be closed today, the 25th of April, in honour of Anzac day. We will reopen tomorrow. Lest we forget

10.01.2022 Getting a few unusual jobs lately. Can't say this is something we see every day either... blown transfer case in a 2011 Captiva...

09.01.2022 Hi all!! We would like to thank everyone for a wonderful year here at BAM. We hope you all enjoy your much needed and well deserved break. We will be closed all of next week and will be reopening on the 2nd of January. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year See you all back in 2018!!

08.01.2022 And we're back for another year of hard yakka. Hope everyone had a great break, here's to a (hopefully) excellent 2019

07.01.2022 Well, that's a bit ruined... we haven't seen a shock explode this bad on a new car before!!

06.01.2022 Hi all, we are closed today for Australia Day. Have a great long weekend!!

06.01.2022 Hey guys, we are closed today for the Queen's birthday public holiday. We will be open again tomorrow

05.01.2022 Hey guys, apologies from us for not posting for so long, it has been non stop chaos here!! To make up for it this one is going to be doozy better put the kettle on... Just wanted to share with you this video of a car we had in earlier this week that was 30,000 overdue for a service. We've had a number of overdue cars lately so we'd like to share with you why changing your oil and filter regularly is so important. For those who don't fully understand how an engine works; the... oil is the lifeblood of your engine and while it plays many roles in the functionality of a well running motor, its main and most crucial function is to provide lubrication of the moving parts of your engine. This means the oil must not only be able to reduce friction of the moving parts, but it must also keep the internals clean. The oil manufacturers dictate that the lifespan of engine oil is 10,000kms or no more than 12 months, whichever comes first. Beyond this 10k or 12 month period, the engine oil begins to deteriorate and is unable to perform at its full potential. The properties of the oil begin to break down and thicken. This thickened oil increases friction and the cleaning properties also reduce, preventing the oil from stopping the build up of varnish and sludge. This sludge then begins to block all the oil galleries inside the engine and the oil pick up inside the sump, preventing oil from reaching the important parts inside. The best way to explain this is to look at teeth. Daily brushing is an important part of keeping teeth clean and healthy. Teeth that are not brushed regularly will begin to develop a build up of bacteria and plaque. The same concept applies to the inside of an engine. So please, for your own good and the good of your car (because no one likes to break down) have your oil and filter changed regularly. It really does extend the life of your engine and prevent very costly repairs (Too long; didn't read) Change your engine oil and filter so your car doesn't go kaput!! Remember, a happy car will go far
