24.01.2022 We are delighted to see the money our schools and offices raised helping you in your recovery. In the true spirit of St Mary of the Cross Mackillop, we saw a need and wanted to respond in a heartfelt and purposeful way. It is truly a blessing to witness that response providing hope and inspiration to many schools and parishes who suffered loss and tragedy through the devastation of those horrible bushfires. This is something fundamental to what it means to be Catholic school communities. 22.01.2022 Our Executive Director, Pam Betts, surprised St Anthony's Year 6 student Matilda Kelly with a visit in support of her call for students and staff to wear a splash of colour for this year's women's State of Origin game. Wearing her Queensland colours, Miss Betts thanked Matilda, a Blues supporter, for showing great initiative and getting in touch with her to highlight her passion for women's rights in sport. Miss Betts told Matilda that one day she hoped the women's State of O...rigin would become a tri-series competition just like the men's game. She said Brisbane Catholic Education provided equal opportunities for girls to play and excel in all sports offered by our 144 schools across the Archdiocese of Brisbane. She also congratulated the winning Maroons on defeating the Blues for the first time in four years and on home soil too. Go Queenslander! 22.01.2022 Congratulations to our Professional Standards and Student Protection Team on their Youth Participation Award in the lead up to Queensland Child Protection Week from September 6 12. Team representatives, along with our Executive Director Pam Betts and representatives from our #StudentVoice initiative, were at Parliament House to accept the award on behalf of everybody involved in the initiative. This is certainly well-deserved recognition for our team who have been building ...authentic partnerships with students to create and maintain safe, inclusive and engaging learning communities so that our students can reach their full potential and make a positive difference in the world. Keep an eye out for our next COVID-19-safe Student Voice Festival of Ideas in The Edge, SLQ at the State Library of Queensland on October 1. #futurelearningcommunities #BCEschools Di Farmer MP Archdiocese of Brisbane The Catholic Leader See more

20.01.2022 Did you know it’s been 10 years since we celebrated the canonisation of St Mary of the Cross Mackillop. 150 years ago, Mary and her Josephite Sisters walked the streets of a very different looking Brisbane. These courageous women were pioneers in the early years of Catholic education and left us a legacy for which we remain deeply grateful. St Mary of the Cross MacKillop’s courage and service continues to inspire Brisbane Catholic Education to teach our students wisdom that will last, discover God’s will in all things and positively transform the world. As we build on the work of Mary, her sisters and all those who came after, we encourage you to engage and participate in our journey by visiting http://ow.ly/bCXy50Buixv and sharing your thoughts!

This ensures that different qualities, skills, perspectives and experiences are brought together to provide an enriched learning and work experience underpinned by respectful relationships. #futurelearningcommunities #BCEschools #teachchallengetransform

07.01.2022 The truly talented Natalie Gibbs has joined our efforts to set the world alight with songs of hope and joy through our #SingYourOwnSong! campaign.
