21.01.2022 OPENING NIGHT AT GoMA Had a wonderful time at last night's opening of the brilliant Brisbane International Film Festival. Running from 3-13 October it encompasses 100 local and international films, documentaries and shorts, events, workshops and panels. Guests were treated to the movie Judy & Punch - a feminist reworking of the classic tale, one that smartly unpacks casual acceptance of male aggression and the punitive mentality of mob rule. Mia Wasikowska and Damon Herriman deliver extraordinary performances in the debut feature film by Mirrah Foulkes. We loved it. 10.01.2022 Guests to the preview of MILITARY WIVES, at the Event Cinema at Indooroopilly, received a special treat. Along with the movie we were entertained by our own Military Wives Choir. Beautiful music and a moving performance. 01.01.2022 We have just donated money for four of these cases. Little Stars Kids Case - a lovely family Christmas gift to a child you may never meet. KIDS IN CARE - Many children are removed from their biological parents at very short notice and often take nothing with them into foster care and dont really understand why they have been taken from their home. This would be incredibly scary for children and so our Little Stars Kids Cases Program provides children with a carry case they can call their own and store their belongings in bringing some happiness and comfort. Included in the case are a handmade quilt, a teddy bear, colouring pencils and book and a school bag and lunch box.
