25.01.2022 Dr. Gillespie attended the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy & Surgery Pelvic Floor Symposium over the weekend, as faculty. He gave a lecture on the role of anorectal physiology tests and imaging in functional colorectal disorders, and also participated in a panel discussion on the management of complex pelvic floor cases across specialities. At Brisbane Colorectal we are lucky to be affiliated with a group of fantastic allied health professionals, urogynaecologists and urologists. Our team approach allows us to offer our pelvic floor patients a holistic package of care. It was great to be able to discuss this and learn from others at the conference!

22.01.2022 Brisbane Colorectal supports the inaugural Australasian Birth Trauma Association’s conference - Uniting professionals in birth trauma care. As founders of the Brisbane Academic Functional Colorectal Unit, we have found that the most common cause of functional colorectal conditions is obstetric trauma. This is an often overlooked, but very important and common problem in the Western World. Hope the conference goes well and can shed more light on how to improve care for our patients and to prevent obstetric pelvic injuries.

03.01.2022 Today is World Metastatic Colorectal Cancer Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about advanced bowel cancer, also known as metastatic colorectal cancer (m...CRC). Together, and with your help, we intend to put advanced bowel cancer firmly on the agenda of governments, health care providers and key decision-makers around the world, as we campaign for further research to address gaps in knowledge and support the development of new, innovative and effective treatments. By raising awareness among patients, clinicians and policy-makers about the full range of tests and treatments to be made available and campaigning together, we know we can make a difference. Advanced bowel cancer doesn’t recognise borders, and neither do we. For more information on the campaign and to find out how to get involved, please visit the Get Personal website at http://www.getpersonal.global/ #BowelCancerAustralia #GetPersonal #WorldmCRCDay

02.01.2022 The fear that symptoms might be due to cancer was enough to prevent one-in-four of those surveyed from scheduling an appointment. What would you do if you were experiencing symptoms you thought might be due to cancer? #BowelCancerAustralia
