12.01.2022 North Queensland Bonsai Road Trip 2020 is on. I will be around the Fraser Coast region for Beaver Rock Bonsai and private sessions around the weekend of 24/25 October. Then heading through Gladstone during the week on the way up to Mackay/Airlie Beach for events at Butterfly Effect Nursery on 30/31 October plus private sessions. Then a quick trip up to Ingham for private work before coming back down to Townsville around the weekend of 7/8 November for Townsville Bonsai Club and private sessions. Then it is time to head back down the coast for a day with Rockhampton Bonsai Society plus private sessions around the weekend of 14/15 Nov. If you are in those areas or in between and are interested in any session time please let me know. Happy to fill as many days as possible. Looking forward to catching up with people again.

09.01.2022 Well. Here we are. Bonsai is back in Coopers Plains and we are ready to teach. Yesterday we held the first workshop in the new premises to test out function and facilities and we were all happy with the results. We have enough space for 4 people to work safely yet still enjoy each others company. We will just be running workshops for now until I can source and afford material for structured classes to return toward the end of winter. Private sessions from $150 and the usual... 4 person group for $50 per person. Private and group sessions offer flexible delivery depending on your requirements with group sessions running every Wednesday and Sunday from this Sunday 7th June. 07.01.2022 Some history in two Figs in the workshop today. Plus the most unique top dressing ever. The first one, a Qld Small Leaf Fig, was collected off a tree 65 years ...ago. She said it was significantly smaller then. The second, a Port Jackson Fig, was collected off the limestone in Sydney over 35 years ago. His dad is an auto glazier, so the mulch is a shattered windscreen. Sean Hartley is off for 3 months trial, which when successful will lead to a minimum 2 years in Japan. Stay focused, but relax and enjoy the experience. See you soon when I get there. 05.01.2022 Spring is always early in Brisbane. Prime time now for potting or repotting most trees. Come along to workshops to learn better techniques for managing roots for optimum performance for the tree. If you dont want to learn how, we can do it for you. Just make an appointment to drop your Bonsai off and you will have them back in 2 weeks.
