23.01.2022 A client had 4 native bee hives to split, she wanted to learn hands on for future. After the first demonstration split she then did the next 3 with no problems

22.01.2022 Thanks to Sarah for calling us to rescue some native bees. Two dead trees that came down a year ago and last weekend were being cut up for firewood when the chainsaw went through a bee colony. We rescued two large logs that each had half the colony and relocated them. About 100kg each.

22.01.2022 Splitting of a hive three years old, TH. Very heavy approx 8 kg.

18.01.2022 The third split by Sharon today, she is now trained and confident to split her own hives in the future.

16.01.2022 Native Stingless bees in the wild commonly nest in hollow trees, although this tree is quite alive and healthy, possibly a hollow within from termites.

14.01.2022 Infestation of Phorid fly and their larvae in a native bee hive. These are the most horrible of pests and will enter and attack weaker hives.

12.01.2022 This is great advice and makes good sense, thank you Tim.

09.01.2022 Old hives not used for years can be reused providing they have been kept dry and out of the weather, old propolis dried like concrete but can be chiseled out

06.01.2022 Hi Mark, this is one of the videos I did yesterday. I hope it is ok to post.

03.01.2022 This native beehive was very old and the box not in good condition, passed onto a girl from her Nan. We split the colony 8 weeks ago and today did a health check, removed splitting tapes and paint sealed all joins and gaps. In 10 to 12 months time we will have removed all old box parts and replaced with new. A family heirloom passed down!

01.01.2022 Ensuring all is sealed until next split
