17.01.2022 Red velvet cake isn’t just a chocolate cake with red food coloring added. In fact, the original red velvet cake got its name because the buttermilk and the vine...gar naturally bring out the red undertones in the cocoa powder, giving the cake a red tint. Buttermilk and vinegar also break down the gluten in flour resulting in a more tender cake which is probably why it got the nickname red velvet. Of course over the years a little red food coloring was added to intensify the color to what we see today, which is why people can get confused about what the flavor of a true red velvet cake recipe is supposed to be. 06.01.2022 The Lakes Hotel has informed us that anyone attending the seminar must book direct and not on-line. Members ringing the hotel need to let the staff at the Hotel... know they will be attending the seminar. We have done a deal with them so it will be a little cheaper. If people book on line and the Seminar has to be cancelled for any reason then the hotel will only refund if people book direct. ANCDA National Competition Schedule out soon. See more

The amazing ladies of the branch did an amazing job of pu...tting it all together.... well done ladies There was a workshop on foliage by member Debbie Bain, a demo on how to make a 3D rabbit by the super talented Zoe Byres, a Marbelled geode cake by the gorgeous Verusca Walker and finally me, myself and I, doing the impression stamps demo X4, and no stopping for a Saturday nana nap either A wonderful day with wonderful people. Thank you Brisbane for inviting me and being such wonderful hosts.
