03.01.2022 Original Survey Post, described on old survey plans as OSP. Typically cut from a tree as a whole with a base disk left on, cut to a square then a point and buried at the boundary corner. Earliest Direction from the Surveyor General I could find was 1898 although reference can be found for Section Stakes pre-separation from NSW about 1858. These were just big stakes marked with Section number. I'll post a couple of extracts from the Directions to Surveyors.
