Book your tickets now: https://bit.ly/2JIpGPZ The Prince of Egypt is a 1998 American animated musical drama film produced by DreamWorks Animation and released by DreamWorks Pictures. It is the first DreamWorks feature to be traditionally animated.... The film is an adaptation of the Book of Exodus and follows the life of Moses from being a prince of Egypt to his ultimate destiny to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt. The film features songs written by Stephen Schwartz and a score composed by Hans Zimmer. The official soundtrack for The Prince of Egypt was released in November 1998. It features songs and scoring from the film, as well as songs not used in the film. The album peaked at No. 1 on Billboard magazine's Top Contemporary chart, and No. 25 on the Billboard 200 chart. 22.01.2022 BCO is excited to announce our return to the stage in A Celebration of Music, a COVID-safe performance celebrating the joy that music brings to us on a daily basis. Under the baton of Musical Director Matthew Schwarz, the orchestra will lift you up with performances of Brahms’ Hungarian Dances and excerpts from Bizet’s famous opera, Carmen. Joining BCO as guest soloists are soprano Anna Tafani and baritone Camilo Lopez, final-year students at the Queensland Conservatorium G...riffith University. They will sing arias from Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro, excerpts from Faure’s requiem, as well as songs by Strauss and Schubert. The orchestra and soloists will then finish the afternoon with some Christmas favourites to send you off in a festive spirit! 01.01.2022 BCO musicians recently performed at Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner's Multicultural Business Awards at Brisbane City Hall. Under the baton of Musical Director Matthew Schwarz, the orchestra was joined by Baritone soloist Camilo Lopez and performed a variety of works across the evening. BCO thoroughly enjoyed the event and would like to congratulate all the nominees and awards recipients for their outstanding achievements. Due to easing restrictions, new tickets have just been released - be sure to book now: https://bcoacom.eventbrite.com In the lead up to our concert, we'd like to introduce you to one of our fantastic soloists, Camilo Lopez: Venezuelan baritone Camilo Lopez has been an active performer across different classical styles in Venezuela and Australia. Camilo has performed extensively in solo... recitals, operas, choirs, and choral symphonies in venues such as the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Queensland Conservatorium Theatre, Queensland Parliament House Senate Chamber, Old Museum Building and Teresa Carreño Theatre. In 2020, he will debut the role of Aeneas from Dido and Aeneas by Purcell. He has worked with celebrated conductors such as Richard Hetherington, Ward Stare and Johannes Fritzsch. As an opera chorus member he has sung in Beatrice et Benedict by Berlioz (2020), Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor by Nicolai (2019), Tosca by Puccini (2016) and Los Martirios de Colón by Ruiz (2015). Choral highlights include Mahler´s 8th Symphony, Beethoven´s 9th Symphony and Donna Nobis Pacem by Vaughan Williams. Camilo is passionate about the artsong genre, especially French melodies and German Lied. His repertoire includes Schumann's Liederkreis op.39 and Ravel's cinq melodies populaires grecques. Introduced to the world of opera by Venezuelan soprano Jennifer Graterol, he is currently guided by Opera Queensland singer Mattias Lower. In the lead up, we'd like to introduce you to one of our fantastic soloists, Anna Tafani: Emerging artist, Anna Tafani, is an Albanian operatic soprano graduating with a Bachelor of Music from Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University in 2020. Throughout her studies, she has appeared in many prestigious performa...nces including Mahler’s 8th Symphony in Queensland Performing Arts Centre and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony at the Conservatorium, conducted by Johannes Fritzsch. She participated in the new production of Mozart’s La Finta Giardiniera directed by the award-winning director Imara Savage. She is currently preparing the role of the 2nd Woman in Purcell’s opera Dido and Aeneas under the guidance of her voice lecturer and the National President of ANATS, Shelli Hulcombe. When she started taking singing lessons at the age of 15 in her hometown, Anna was thrilled by the world of opera and decided to develop her passion into a profession. She has been described by Conservatorium staff as a promising singer, demonstrating an attractive tonal vibrancy. One of her dream roles is Violetta from Verdi’s La Traviata and she is very enthusiastic about performing. #bco #music #brisbane #opera
