24.01.2022 A message from Hockey Queensland regarding the SHC Canteen: The SHC adopted the policy of only accepting EFTPOS payments prior to the recommencement of fixtures... in June post COVID isolation. This policy is still in place and well signed allowing individuals to decide whether or not they wish to purchase goods using this payment method. All staff have been instructed not to accept cash payments so please do not be offended if you are refused cash transactions. We would like to remind all users at the SHC that verbal abuse of staff is not acceptable at any time.

20.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING BLUE CARDS Blue Card laws are changing from 31 August 2020. Blue Card Services are auditing Sport and Recreation organisations... throughout 2020-2021 and penalties for non-compliance can be over $66,000 / 5 years jail. The changes include: the No Card, No Start lawyou cannot work or volunteer in a position requiring a blue card until your application is approved a new rule for expiring cardsif you don't renew by the expiry date, you will be subject to the No Card, No Start law and cannot work a requirement to notify us about changes in your police information as a card holder or applicant stricter requirements for people who rely on an exemption to work or volunteer with childrenthrough the introduction of the terms restricted person and restricted employment, and associated offences a new frequency testif you only work 7 or fewer days in a calendar year, a blue card may not be required. This does not apply if you operate a business an expiry date for exemption cards for Queensland police and teachers, so they will need to be renewed if still required. 16.01.2022 The fourth annual Brett Forte Memorial Match, a charity hockey game played between a Redcliffe team and a Queensland Police side, will be held tomorrow. The gam...e honours the late Brett Forte, a police officer and former Redcliffe Leagues Hockey Club Inc. player killed on duty in 2017, and raises funds for Police Legacy. 15.01.2022 This morning ALL BHA U11 Club teams (and their coaches) attended the INAUGURAL U11 Skills Development Day at the State Hockey Centre. Our young players were coached by Olympic champions, Mark Knowles, Matt Wells and Liam de Young and some of Queensland and Brisbane’s best male players who are currently playing Division 1 in the Brisbane Hockey League. Session 2 saw Bulimba, Easts, PRStA, Redcliffe and UQ players hitting the turf, which was new to many of them. Thank you also ...to Bulimba Bulls Hockey Club who fed everyone today. 12.01.2022 With no junior fixtures being played in Toowoomba in 2020, the Brisbane Hockey Association invited a Toowoomba J team to play each week against our J1 club teams. It was a fantastic experience for all involved.
12.01.2022 Just an update, due to the volume of nominations received by Hockey Queensland, and that Monday 5th October is a public holiday, the announcement of the 2021 Under 15 & Under 18 Girls and Boys Squads will now be announced on the HQ website by 5pm on Wednesday 7th October, not Tuesday the 6th as previously stated.
