24.01.2022 The GBL season is a wrap! in the women's competition Lang Park overcame a strong UQ Uni Reds team in what was a nail biter. Lang Park 76 -74. UQ Uni Reds also featured in the Men's competition as they looked to record a historic threepeat for the club. Ultimately North Brisbane Dragons were far too strong winning 102-72. Congratulations to all the teams in action and thanks to the crowd who were out in force!

21.01.2022 We have been doing some planned stadium improvements over the last few weeks. Check out the difference the new sheeting has made up on court 4. A big thanks to Russel and Kylie from Quicksnips Roofing for a job well done. In December we will be replacing the sheeting on court 3 as well as resurfacing court 1 and 2.

20.01.2022 Everyone hello Welcome to the new 2019 senior social season - just a reminder that all players must be registered prior to their game not the next day or week. I would appreciate your assistance with this to avoid the application of a technical forfeit result. Please go to our website to arrange online payment: http://brisbane.basketballqld.com.au//player-registration/... To try and work through the expected start up issues and completing scoresheets we will have an additional IPAD available prior to your game to complete player details. This will be attended to at the canteen. Please help us with this so we are not delayed too long week 1. In terms of rule changes only one to be aware of, this season you will only be allowed 4 timeouts per game 1 per quarter. The referees will remind you of this change prior to your game.

16.01.2022 Lang Park Academy Brisbane Basketball is seeking expressions of interest for a new role that will proactively and skillfully develop the fundamental technical skills of junior club basketballers in a fun and engaging way. The successful candidates will be provided with a training plan for each age group. You will be expected to provide a detailed session plan prior to the commencement of the first sessions (you will be assisted). The program will commence on Tuesday the 29th... of January with trials and you will run those trials until the 8th of February - it is expected that teams will not need to be 100% solidified until the end of March, but we need initial teams created to enter them into the Term #1 pre-season. This program will run for 25 weeks from the 29th of January until the 23rd of August. You will be expected to be on the floor to lead and to provide on the run coaching and feedback for the entire session. The engagement is on a casual basis with a commitment across the following days and times; Tues 4 6.15pm Thurs 4 6.15pm Fri 4 6.15pm Tues 6.15 9pm Thurs 6.15 9pm The early timeslot caters to U11 to U13 athletes and the later to older age groups It is essential that you are qualified (e.g. Level 1 basketball equivalent) with a background in the delivery of sports coaching. Expressions of interest with availability by usual resume to be forwarded to [email protected] and remuneration is be negotiated.

16.01.2022 Some months we indicated that we would upgrade the glory league cameras. While we were able to proceed quickly with courts 1 and 2 courts 3 and 4 were delayed until last week. The new cameras for 3 and 4 are multi lens purchased specifically to substantially reduce the elliptical effect seen on your game videos. 11.01.2022 In 2020 after the delay due to Covid-19 putting our competitions on hold we had 3 new clubs join our Junior Competitions The addition of St Peters, Ambrose Treacy and Pioneers gave our traditional clubs more variety in their weekly competitions. The season went along for 15 weeks nice and smoothly and we also added venues St Peters and Kelvin Grove, this was a huge assistance as we had lost use of Kedron, Centenary and BBC. Over the past weekend we conducted the finals for bo...th Friday and Saturday Competitions, it was a great atmosphere in the stadium. Friday Night commenced with a double overtime thriller on Court 2 and a couple of one or two basket results. Saturday also had a couple of high intensity games that were not decided until the closing seconds. Well done to all the teams in action over the last weekend, congratulations to all the division winners! Have a great Christmas and we look forward to seeing you in 2021.

10.01.2022 COVID-19 Brisbane Basketball Update 1 18th March 2020 Dear all ... As you would be aware Australias response to the COVID-19 has impacted our business and social communities across the country. In response to the Federal Governments advice on combatting the spread of the covid-19 Brisbane Basketball Inc is suspending all domestic competitions for an initial period of 2 weeks effective immediately. This means Auchenflower Stadium is closed for domestic competition, casual shooting, junior and senior representative training and mini-hoops. In the intervening time we will be regularly consulting with Basketball Queensland and listening to the government advice to assist us to provide the appropriate information and updates on the everchanging COVID-19 situation and the effect on our basketball community. We will also be developing our plans on re-structuring your season so we are ready to go when the situation changes. We will advise this information via email with team/club representatives. Our next review will be 31st March or earlier depending on prevailing circumstances. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding in these unprecedented times and will provide updates as available. We will be providing further updates for the games scheduled over the remainder of the week as we receive further advice from Basketball Queensland and QLD Health.
