19.01.2022 Meet Winnie, the adorable 8 year old Isa Brown rooster. After collapsing at home Winnie’s amazing owners from Head Over Hooves Farm Haven brought him into the surgery for an assessment. Winnie was diagnosed with heart disease for which he is currently receiving twice daily tablets. Administering tablets to birds can sometimes be stressful but our superstar Winnie shows us how the cool kids take their medication. Winnie is currently doing well and living a beautiful, very well loved life at the Head over Hooves Farm Haven.

12.01.2022 Warning! Cuteness overload ahead! Pig is one of our patients at Brisbane Bird Vet who has been treated for a very common fungal infection called Avian Gastric Yeast (AGY). This fungus is very commonly seen in budgies and can be very persistent in our feathered friends. After several treatment courses with an antifungal medication Pig is doing well now. She has even picked up some very interesting acrobatic moves... You can fllow Pig on instagram @_pig_bird_

08.01.2022 If you find a baby bird that needs to be reunited with its parents, you can construct a "bird bucket" to keep the baby safe until its parents return. See the poster below for a step-by-step guide. Thank you for the helpful poster RSPCA Queensland.
