25.01.2022 Announcement from the BBC Committee: Our efficient, reliable and valued administrator, Chris Larter, has resigned from his position with the club in order to accept an offer of full time employment. Chris has held this position in our club for four and a half years and has filled this role with diligence and expertise.... We are sure that all members will join with the Committee in wishing Chris all the very best in his future career and also to thank him for his huge contribution to maintaining BBC as a most excellent bridge club. The Committee is setting the wheels in motion to advertise for a suitable replacement for Chris and we will keep the membership informed of any progress in that area. 20.01.2022 BBC participated in the Brisbane Zone Interclub Teams on Sunday 18 November at Toowong Bridge Club. Clubs can provide a team in four grades and play for the Marion Cooke Memorial Trophy. BBC came first overall on the day as well as first in the under 400 masterpoints and under 10 masterpoints grades. Congratulations!

09.01.2022 A GAME FOR ALL AGES Player profiles on our Queensland Youth Team that competed last week at the Australian National Championships in Melbourne. The team came 3rd out of 6th. Great effort!

09.01.2022 Accessibility Upgrade Completed The Brisbane Bridge Centre club rooms and grounds have had an Accessibility Upgrade. This work was completed by the Brisbane City Council under Accessibility and Inclusion. We thank the council for this work and are fortunate that this has been completed while the club has been closed due to COVID-19. Work completed at the club included the following:... - 2 Accessible car parks and 1 Drop Off Taxi car park - Widening the pathway into the club building - Upgrading of the doors to the upstairs and downstairs playing areas - New Accessible Toilet for the upstairs and downstairs playing areas - Additional flood light at the entry into the club building Other work that has also been completed, some at the club expense, included: - Upgrading the downstairs Male toilet facility - Colorbond fencing at the Frederick Street corner of the grounds

03.01.2022 It is sad to advise that Lorna Newnham passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon 21 August. Lorna was a founding member, life member, and former president of the Brisbane Bridge Centre. Lorna's funeral will be on Thursday 29 August, 2pm at K.M. Smith Bowen Hills (53 Brookes St, Bowen Hills QLD 4006).... We will miss you Lorna!
