08.01.2022 Dear Riders. This event has been a learning curve in how to run a large competitive event in a COVID-safe environment. As part of our learning curve we will be making some changes to our presentations moving forward. This evening (6 PM) we will ask the riders to gather in the Equestrian Queensland Ringside Retreat to be presented with their rosettes. Support crew are to remain in the grandstand. Following on from presentation of the rosettes we will request the top three plac...ed riders only, and champions and reserve champions where applicable, to return to The Saddlefitter Marquee for a socially distanced photo. Support crew are not to be in the marquee or gathering in groups on the outside while photos are taking place. Riders and support crew are reminded that they need to be seated to consume alcohol, and no dogs are permitted in the indoor complex (including the grass areas) at any time. 07.01.2022 The Ray Roe Star Fish award. Ray Roe. ‘The General’, who together with wife Kaz, supported the development and sustainability of equestrian sport in Queensland. Ray tragically passed away from a stroke September 2019. This award has been established in memory of Ray. There were several instances yesterday where the event was put at risk. We must, must social distance, 1.5m means 1.5m unless you are in a family group. Family group DOESNT MEAN your 10 besties. This applies especially around food, beverages and the bar. Buy alcohol QSECs licence and the LAW requires to consume you are seated and following social distanci...ng regulations! We WILL be inspected by authorities (police, health dept, DPI) and they WILL enforce regulations. They WILL shut the event down if we are non compliant!
