22.01.2022 SUPPORTER COMMENT : Im in Stewart. I can contribute what ever is required to implement change. I have been involved as a supplier for City Hall and its clients for over 10 years. I no longer am invited to quote and supply to the Lord Mayors Office and any of my existing clients who use the space are steered to using internal contractors. I'm more than happy to expand on this.

21.01.2022 SELBY AND FRIENDS. Another wonderful series of concerts. Not seen in Brisbane. Would be perfect for City Hall's two concert venues. http://www.selbyandfriends.com.au/

20.01.2022 Another incredible festival lost to Brisbane due to the difficulties in hiring City Hall's performance venues.

20.01.2022 Wow..this money would pay for venue management and promotion of our Brisbane City Hall's concert venues. What a waste of money. http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au//brisbane-to-tip-in-870000

20.01.2022 Another fabulous concert that should have been on in our City Hall. https://www.cityrecitalhall.com/events/sato-and-romantics

19.01.2022 Read the first news story on this matter. Kristian Silva's story in the Brisbane Times. http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au//brisbane-city-hall-venue-

18.01.2022 Comment from a well-known Brisbane singer, now in London. Yes of course, count me in for anything I can do. "

18.01.2022 AUSTRALIAN BRANDENBURG ORCHESTRA...NOT AT BRISBANE CITY HALL. https://www.cityrecitalhall.com/events/sato-and-romantics

16.01.2022 Welcome to our Facebook page to lobby for the return of Brisbane City Hall's Concert venues to the musicians and arts practitioners of Brisbane. It's ironic, just 3 days before the ANZAC anniversary, that we are fighting for what is fair, honourable and just. It's a massive battle against enormous odds, but the cause is worthy. We cannot let these two beautiful concert venues be thrown on the scrap-heap to be only used for City Hall's own 'free' concerts ( most of which belong in the RSL ) and their use for corporate and 'civil' events.

15.01.2022 More of what we are missing at a central Brisbane arts venue....http://email.wordfly.com/view/

14.01.2022 Thanks ABC. Graham Quirk asked about this issue on air today. Usual vague reply about all the community groups they get into City Hall...BUT we know none of them are hiring the 2 music venues !!

13.01.2022 This will be my one and only political post. As a member of the Arts community and a small business owner, I am often pulled in two directions politically. Having had a great one-on-one meeting with Rod Harding last year in regard to the inaccessibility of the newly-restored City Hall venues for musical performances, I believe he is truly committed to fixing the current terrible problems. He is also aware of how hideous King George Square is and how lovely it could be once ag...ain. City Hall, as a venue for the people must also be revitalised. Somehow Campbell Newman and his successor Graham Quirk turned the need to restore City Hall into an opportunity to grab Main Hall and the Ithaca auditorium and change them from significant arts venues to corporate & meeting venues. The chairs were removed from the Ithaca and only placed in when there is a performance in there ( which is never ). It was swift and cynical. The procedure for daring to want to now use them for the arts is a long, frustrating and inequitable process, which favours amateur, state-funded or 'community' organisations. The cost for me, rose 500%. Currently the 'Free Concert Series' is all there is on a regular basis - it enjoys a monopoly and provides a variable diet of all sorts. Brisbane cannot afford to lose these two beautiful and historic venues, following the loss of Customs House ( to UQ events, weddings and MBA lectures ), Regent & Suncorp Theatres to development and the demolition of Her Majesty's Theatre in the 80s. The Tivoli will almost certainly be next. Rod Harding asked to meet me and listened. His opponent Graham Quirk and his side-kicks, just writes drivel in letters which deliberately answer perhaps only 10% of the questions asked, and never answers direct questions like " what does this cost to run". Rod has both a business & legal background. He is charismatic and will be a face of Brisbane we can be proud of, compared with Quirk, who, like his predecessor is an embarrassment. He says he stands for fairness, and I believe him. Just for one election...this-coming Saturday, become political. If you are reliant on the arts for your living ( or wish to ) and live in Brisbane, then support Rod and all who stand with him ( even if you have always seen yourself as 'Liberal' or 'Conservative'. Brisbane needs a fresh start and there is more to life than tunnels, questionable land-sales, new roads and light-rail. Stewart Cameron - Return our City Hall

11.01.2022 ON AT SYDNEY'S RECITAL HALL ( we don;t have one in Brisbane - yet ) http://archive.skem1.com//Public/show/du3r2--b65qm-1okeh099

10.01.2022 Another comment from a community choir ( name with-held ) " Yes, we agree. High cost for hiring venues is the end of our art, being presented in a suitable atmosphere."

08.01.2022 More world-class performances that could be offered at our City Hall. http://email.wordfly.com/view/

06.01.2022 Long list of questions now submitted to Cr Krista Adams. We'll post the responses ( and questions ) here. They include how much of the $5,600 goes to Council and how much to Epicure.

06.01.2022 Another one missed by Brisbane. Perfect performance for our Ithaca Recital Hall. http://www.omegaensemble.com.au/

03.01.2022 SUPPORTER COMMENT : ( former OPERATIF soloist ) I've just seen the Return City Hall page. Any way I can help from the UK? Would it help if I wrote a letter? Give me a name & address to send it, and consider it done. Happy to send you a copy of it helps.

02.01.2022 SUPPORTER COMMENT : .. its so typical isnt it!!!! The BCC goes broke and the poor punters are the ones saddled with the extra costs.... you have our sympathy and support, but this will only get worse at every level... regards J and J ( internationally-renowned Brisbane-based theatre company )

02.01.2022 On in Sydney...but not Brisbane - of course. An ideal performance for one of City Hall's two theatres. http://justforlaughssydney.com/shows/
