25.01.2022 As most cockatiel breeders know all babies look like females when they first feather up. That usually means barring on the rump area of normal greys and normal whiteface babies. Although these 2 babies look normal grey (one is pastelface and one is whiteface) only 1 has barring on the rump. Seems highly possible that the one with no barring( the whiteface) is actually a whiteface spangle.

25.01.2022 Time for our weekly update on the development of sugglepot and cuddlepie. They are now 5 weeks old and have mastered flying like pros. Snugglepot is a normal pastelface and i am convinced cuddlepie is a whiteface spangle as the feathers are getting lighter all the time and there are no usual wingspots or barring like on snugglepot.

23.01.2022 And then there were 2..... i mean 2 babies not 2 hourly feeds for 2 weeks days ... dont remind me.

22.01.2022 Well that was one bubby in a hell of a hurry to greet us. From one tiny pip mark to racing round the incubator in 5 hours.... AND it is a pastelface so fingers crossed for a male pastelface spangle :)

22.01.2022 Day 6 of egg 1 & 2, day 4 of egg 3 and day 2 of egg 4. Missed out on pictures yesterday as we spent so much time doing the yard. It was a beautiful day and we all enjoyed being outside.

22.01.2022 So another week has passed and our 2 incubator hatchlings are growing bigger by the day. They have just reached 3 weeks old. Quite a big difference to how they looked last week.

20.01.2022 Day 7 of egg 1 & 2, day 5 of egg 3 and day 3 of egg 4.

19.01.2022 Day 4 of cockatiel eggs 1 and 2. Day 2 for egg 1.

19.01.2022 One solitary egg in the incubator hatched last night. Not sure if it is wf olive, silver or platinum as it came in with heap of abandoned eggs from various nests. Cold night and all parents left nests and eggs chilled.... sadly we lost the rest in shell. It is a big one though... not sure how it fitted in the shell.

18.01.2022 Always a good time for cuddles <3

18.01.2022 Welcome to the world little one. Not the best video but caught him just at the moment he made his entrance.

17.01.2022 Time for the weekly updates on snugglepot and cuddlepie. Now 6 weeks old and not a huge difference in appearance but they are now starting to eat and flying like pros.

17.01.2022 Dad always has to move the eggs when he takes over the incubation role. She likes to be close to the door and he prefers the middle :)

16.01.2022 In a total of 17 days life has been created!!! From our first picture of the fertile eggs we now can now see what the red spot has become.

16.01.2022 And then there were 2.

15.01.2022 Unfortunately things have not gone well with the birds this last month. We had something scare the birds in the breeding cages on a cold night causing the parents to get off the eggs resulting in us losing around 16 babies that were very close to hatching. The babies we have indoors being handraised turned out to be a colour we have been trying to breed for sometime with no success and for whatever reason 4 out of the 6 babies in total are now going to be kept as part of our ...future breeding program. I sincerely apologise to those that I had told that we would have some available but unfortunately when dealing with birds and especially in the winter this is the risks that we take. We do have birds in breeding now and laying eggs but it will be a few months until these are available. Once again please accept my apologies. Regards Jo-Anne See more

15.01.2022 An update on our babies as we watch them grow. Here they are at 2 weeks old compared to them at 1 week.

15.01.2022 One of the risks of breeding in winter is having the parents get disturbed and stay off the nest too long so the eggs cool. I found a nest this afternoon a bit too chilled so bought them inside to the incubator. Seems one little bub is really happy to be warmed up as it certainly is doing some rockin and rollin

15.01.2022 Our youngest incubator hatchling that was about 4 days behind the older 2 is a strange character. Definitely showing pied markings in there but no visual signs in the parents. Doesnt matter though as it will make him a real cutie <3

14.01.2022 Update on 3 day old bubby belonging to one of our group members that was rejected by parents. Had its 4th feed now since this morning and nearly all solid food gone from the crop. Bright and strong and eager to be fed. Sandy Caulfield :)

14.01.2022 Top chick is new hatchling, middle is 36hours and bottom is 4 days. They grow so fast.

13.01.2022 This is one of our babies sold earlier this year that came back for a holiday here while her owner is away. My grandaughter is enjoying giving her some special attention.

13.01.2022 Here is the first signs of life . Egg 1 and 2 have been incubated for 3 days. The 3rd egg has only been 1 day so nothing happening yet.

13.01.2022 Just got home from an early mothers day dinner to find a noisy little whiteface silver freshly hatched in the incubator. Guess sleep will be taking a back seat for a few days

12.01.2022 Loving those morning greens.

12.01.2022 Well I have decided eggs are the same as pots. A watched pot never boils and a watched egg never darn well hatches......sigh.. Well I have decided eggs are the same as pots. A watched pot never boils and a watched egg never darn well hatches......sigh..

12.01.2022 Day 1 of feeding 1st chick hatched today. Only 6 more eggs to hatch and they are all due different days. It will be a long sleepless week.

11.01.2022 2 of our babies finally weaned and heading of to their new homes in the next few days.

11.01.2022 6 days later and we have another 2 to welcome. Enjoyed having 2 nights of 4 hourly feeds.... back to 2 hrs again. I vaguely remember something called a good nights sleep.

10.01.2022 One baby that just does not want to wean.

10.01.2022 One of our surprise pastelface spangle babies at 11 weeks old.

10.01.2022 Snugglepot and cuddlepie at 7 days old. Eyes open,, skin and legs a lot darken and more pins coming through. So much bigger ans stronger in the last 2 days. The other bubby was the last hatch and is 4 days old now.

10.01.2022 One of our babies Eagle we posted photos of as he was growing up. He is now his new owners resident dinasaur killer.... got to keep them away from his seed

10.01.2022 Moved the pair out of this cage this morning that werent sitting properly. Decided to pick a nice big pair of normal greys to see if they would bond. Bonded like kwikgrip it seems and it took all of 15 minutes

08.01.2022 Well we first looked at egg 1 and 2 at 3 days of incubation and here we are now at 17 days and both bubbies are preparing to enter the world. We have eggs that are pipping chirping and rockin.

06.01.2022 Our 3rd baby we are watching grow up is Eagle who is 4 days younger than the other 2. Looking very striking with his/her white head.

06.01.2022 3 babies we have decided to keep for future breeding. A whiteface pearl split platinum male, a pastelface silver, and last but not least a whiteface spangle. All are still being handraised at present so cant wait to see how they look when all grown up.

06.01.2022 After a few years of working with splits and outcrossing we have our first pastelface silver spangles. Cant wait to see how they colour as they mature as no 2 are the same.

06.01.2022 Not a cockatiel i know but had to share this cute video of my grandaughter and her conure skittles sharing breakfast before school.

06.01.2022 Patience is a virtue.... he finally decides to join us for dinner lol

04.01.2022 Snugglepot and cuddlepie are 4 weeks old today and getting huge. Been climbing out of their container in the brooder for 2 days and fledged as i was getting my phone to take the pics. Time to be big birdies and move to a cage.

04.01.2022 Snugglepot and cuddlepie at 5 days old. Eyes open,, skin and legs starting to darken and pins coming through.

04.01.2022 Our little eagle took flight today for the first time. A scruffy little thing but a real character. Developing a little slower than his 2 clutchmates that are 4 days older. At least the 3 got to be reunited in a cage today.

03.01.2022 Sungglepot and cuddlepie sharing some love after a feed. Not quite 2 days old

03.01.2022 Well little bub made it through the night. All seed and solid food has now moved through the crop and he is actively begging for food..... more food than he can actually handle. Lol

02.01.2022 Clarity is not the best but it was possible to see the heart beat of this cockatiel embryo at only day 4 of incubation

01.01.2022 Babies babies everywhere! Here is some photos of the babies we are currently handraising.

01.01.2022 Last pic for the morning is our 4 newest bubbies to start handraising. Dads name is ET because he keeps phoning home even while in the nestbox. Thinking these guys need to named with an extraterrestrial theme after their dad.
