14.01.2022 NEXT Thursday (21 April) we will have a guest conductor join us for our concert band rehearsal. Mr Owen Clarke is in demand as a conductor, adjudicator, clinician and music educator. He has gained a reputation as a dynamic and enthusiastic conductor and music director, a fair and decisive adjudicator, and an engaging MC and presenter of concerts and music for young people. He has had a distinguished career as the Director of Music of the Royal New Zealand Air Force and Navy ...Bands, and as conductor of professional, amateur, tertiary and youth level bands, orchestras and ensembles in both Australia and New Zealand. Owen is passionate about music education, seeing him adjudicate and conduct workshops at various international youth music festivals, eisteddfods, band championships and schools around the world. 07.01.2022 Humans of BCMA: Meet Ellis! Most of us will agree that Ellis is one of the bigger personalities of BCMA. Hes been playing the trumpet for 11 years, but also dabbles in the arts of the flugelhorn and keyboard. He loves the people of BCMA, and says he "couldnt ask for a better group of fun, friendly and hilarious idiots! Were a bunch of odds and ends but we all get along quite wonderfully!"... Hed love to keep being a part of community music while becoming a music and maths teacher. We know youll make a great teacher one day, Ellis! See more
