22.01.2022 R A N S O M W A R E What to look out for? A number of malicious emails have been reported recently, designed to deliver the ‘Emotet’ virus via attachments. This allows the attacker to gain access to home networks or devices and cause greater impact through ransomware deployments. Ransomware is a malicious software (malware) used by cybercriminals to encrypt the victim’s personal or valuable information, thereby rendering the data unusable until the ransom payment (usually in ...the form of Bitcoin, cryptocurrency) is made by the victim. How does it work? Emotet infections are typically embedded in emails containing attachments (.doc, .docx, .PDF) or a link asking users to download a file. These phishing emails may look like they come from someone you know, or even from a large company who provide residential services. If a malicious attachment is accessed, your device may be compromised and the virus may spread to other, leading to significant impact for you and others. What can I do? Always use caution before opening suspicious emails and attachments, and clicking on the links. Be extra vigilant if an email is from an unknown address or person/company. Access data must be changed.... The decision to suspend your account. Waiting for payment. Your account was under attack! Change your access data! Your account is being used by another person! Security Notice. Someone have access to your system. High level of danger. Your account was under attack Your account has been hacked! you need to unlock Security Alert. Your accounts was hacked by criminal group. Be Sure to read this message! Your personal data is threatened Caution! Attack hackers to your account Please do not reply or proceed with the instructions for payment. If you get a similar message, please delete it and do not respond or forward it to anyone else. There are usually links asking the user for their email address and password. These emails/links are known attempts to entice users into compromising their personal and account login details. 08.01.2022 Windows 7 - End of Support - January 14th 2020 Given Microsofts' unbelievable (if not predictable) announcement to discontinue support of Windows 7, it could well behold a silver lining. Of course you will be able to continue to use Windows 7 after support has ended, as your PC will still work given you own the licence. However the vulnerabilities will occur through potential security risks and viruses because you will no longer receive software updates, including security up...dates, from Microsoft.
