22.01.2022 A big thank you to Black Thunder Photography for capturing our Trailer of Hope out on the road. In an effort to raise funds for Hummingbird House, our very own ...Darren Cartner (Mork) worked with the team to coordinate a custom trailer. Everyone that donated to the cause had their name listed on the trailer, with the big reveal on the 2nd November at the annual Convoy for Kids! The passion for the community, the selfless acts of service and the unity through action is what makes our Followmont family one of a kind.

19.01.2022 After careful consideration in regards to how well QLD is travelling with the current covid-19 situation, the Brisbane Convoy for Kids committee has decided we would like to proceed with the 2020 Convoy itself and potentially a "revised" event depending on the approval of a covid-safe plan. We intend to make this event a celebration of the men and women of the transport industry during this current pandemic. As we know more we will let you all know. 13.01.2022 As most of you are already aware, this afternoon is the funeral of our patron Johnny "Ferret" Moran. A truly inspiring larger than life gentleman. As a mark of respect and honour to him and his family. Can we get a show of lights and reply to this post with a photo of your truck to show the family how many were thinking of them today. 13.01.2022 After much deliberation, the Brisbane Convoy for Kids Committee have been left with little option but to cancel the 2020 Convoy and Family Fun Day which was due to be held on 7th November 2020. This is because of the uncertainty of Covid-19 restrictions and the difficulties in having a Covid-19 Safe Plan approved. The wellbeing of our volunteers, convoy participants and the many supporters that help make the day a success is our number one priority. Brisbane Convoy for Kids... Committee would also like to acknowledge the many companies (both large and small) who sponsor us every year. With the current economic climate caused by Covid-19 we realize that many of these companies are struggling themselves but still wish to remain a part of Convoy and for this we extend our heartfelt thanks. For those that have purchased our 2020 Pink Merchandise we will be retaining the Hot Pink colour for our 2021 event so hang on to it. Cancelling this years event doesnt mean we will be resting on our laurels though as we have a lot of exciting things still planned for this year and the committee will be striving to work towards a bigger and better 2021 event. 03.01.2022 It is with deep sadness that Brisbane Convoy for Kids must advise of the passing of our patron John The Ferret Moran yesterday morning. At the request of family who expressed their wish for some private mourning time, we did not share this news with everyone. John The Ferret Moran O.A.M. is the undisputed face of Convoy for Kids in Australia. He is a Life Member of Convoy for Kids Sydney, patron of nine other convoys around the country (including Brisbanes) and is the e...vents National Ambassador. He, together with David Gaurdron, Robin Hunter, Kevin Prescott and Mark Yabsley formed a working committee back in the early 90s and started what has now become the Australia wide movement of Convoy for Kids. You will read many tributes to this man. Yes, everyone within the transport industry new of his passion for Convoy for Kids and related convoys. Yes, everyone knew of his love for my Darling Wife Margo. What a lot of people didnt know was his love for making his own jewellery, his massive hat collection and his great pride in his family. I was once told Us Brambles drivers are a pretty unique mob. This summed up John to a T. His friendliness with everyone, his willingness to tell a story to anyone who stood still long enough to listen, his loyalty to his friends, the fact that he was always the first one in on any shenanigans along the highway, his devoutness to Margo, his undying love for his family. He was a gentleman who always had a smile on his face. The committee (both past and present) of Brisbane Convoy for Kids would like to pass on our condolences to Margo and Johns family. You will be missed John, by all whose lives you have touched in some way. Your legacy will live on, both with your family and the Convoy for Kids movement. See more
