23.01.2022 You cannot have a great finish, without a good start... Take a look at the difference in our deck today. We originally coated it in a decking oil but quickly learned that it was not well suited to our Queensland climate. The transformation is amazing. 3 hours of sanding by Hai to remove all of the contamination and then one coat so far of Sikkens Australia Cetol Deck.... Another light sand tomorrow and then 4 more coats followed by Beer, Pizza & FIRE!

20.01.2022 Dinner for us tonight is roast beef cooked on our Napoleon Grills LEX485 BBQ. Instead of sitting the meat in a roasting dish and all of the juices slowly running out of the meat and into the dish, rotisserie cooking constantly rolls the meat, pushing the juices back into it to keep it moist and succulent. The rear infrared burner provides even, constant heat across the entire piece of meat helping you to produce perfection every time.

17.01.2022 It takes a tribe... They say it takes a tribe to raise a child, well we think the same can be said for building a top class showroom too. We are very lucky to have some wonderful suppliers, but they do more than just help us with making our projects look great, many of them are quick to raise their hand and help us make our Firehouse look fantastic.... Brod from Garde Timber has been by our side for longer than we can remember and this week he has delivered some amazing Ironbark timber planks that have been milled and sanded ready finishing and before becoming part of our Patio area. These pics are taken after just one coat and with two more to come, we think they are going to look amazing when finished. We took a lovely old but sadly very inefficient wood fireplace and replaced it with a new Australian made slow combustion wood fireplace. We were able to reuse the existing wall structure and mantle.... This fireplace now produces 4 times the amount of heat and uses less than half the wood. K & S asked us to help them with a Woodfired Oven for their alfresco area and like most great things, this one took a little bit of time to get it all done, with pre-Christmas freight issues followed by summer storms trying to make the install very challenging, but we got there in the and - Wow! Featuring our Australian made Woodfired oven on ...a rendered Hebel base, this design is fantastic as it gives you lots of room to store firewood, but also a bench beside the Woodfired oven for ingredients etc, One last challenge was the flue could not go through the roof, so a set of bends and custom fascia bracket and they are now cooking with fire! Our outdoor door fireplace and PGH Bricks & Pavers are looking great, building works have continued and the transformation today is looking fantastic. Over the next few days there will be an Arbor constructed to finish the space off before our Napoleon outdoor kitchen is installed.... Another beautifully finished fireplace looking fantastic with a Christmas tree close by, just needs a little snow outside and some eggnog... This period home had an amazing Dado rail detail running around the room and the Master-carpenter building in the fireplace was able to reuse it and build it in as an element of the fireplace mantle.

Pizza oven insert in and temp leveled at 325 degrees C on the stone, We made a simple pizza using a base from Feast on Fruit and Delicatessen - Morningside, cheese, rocket & prosciutto - cooked for 4 mins = Yum :)

We will soon be colaborating with talented Italian chef and teacher Marco Graziani of Graziani homemade to offer hands-on lessons at the Firehouse on how to make your own dough, selecting the right toppings and then how to cook your pizza across a range of devices including, Wood fired pizza ovens, BBQs, Braais and your electric home oven.... Classes would be around 3 hours long and limited to a maximum of 4 people. All ingredients will be provided and you will finish off by eating the rewards, served with a cold beer or glass of wine.
